Description

This is the High Grade 1/144 GM/GM. :) This mobile suit only ever appeared in “Gundam Build Fighters: GM’s Counterattack”, and was used by members of the Gunpla mafia (which is what I think the other GM in it’s name stands for). This is a very simple mobile suit, and while most of the base build stayed the same, you can see minor upgrade to the design. Honestly, I really like this kit. :) I’ve always thought that the GM mobile suits looked neat, and I like that we finally got a Build Fighters version of the standard GM.

In terms of articulation, this kit has some of the best you’ll find in a High Grade GM. The head is on a hinged balljoint, so you yet a full 360 degrees of rotation, side to side tilt, and thanks to the hinge in the neck, you get a wide range of up and down movement. The arms each rotate a full 360 degrees at the shoulders, as well as swing outward and upward. The arms can move all the way out, rotate a full 360 degrees at the biceps, and each gets a full bend at the elbows. The hands are on hinged balljoints, giving them a full 360 degrees of rotation, as well as some extra inward and outward swing. The mid section gets a bit of a forward and backward bend at the abdominal area. The waist can rotate side to side, but not a full 360 degrees due to the placement of the front and side skirt pieces. Thanks to the small side skirt pieces, the legs can move all the way outward and all the way forward, but like many kits, the back skirt piece limits backward leg movement. The legs each also get a full bend at the knees, and the feet are on hinged balljoints, allowing them to tilt and swivel, as well as move forward or backward.

For accessories, you don’t get much. However, that’s to be expected when you consider that this is a GM. You get one beam gun, one shield, two beam sabers, and three different heads. While you can only put one head on at a time, you get three to choose from so that your GM/GM can look like your favorite GM. :) The beam sabers can be attached behind the shield, but there’s also a spot on the backpack to plug in one of the beam sabers.

Now, to keep my reviews as unbiased as possible, I actively look for things that could considered flaws or issues. However, this kit has very few, to be honest. One issue I’ve found is that the front skirt pieces get in the way of the waist rotation. Also, the thrusters on the backpack come off pretty easily. This can easily be solved with a couple of drops of glue, though.

All in all, I think this is a very well done kit. :) Both fun and easy to build, this kit is a very good choice for beginners. I would have liked to have seen a beam rifle included to add an extra customization option, but I don’t consider it a dealbreaker. Plus you can always use the beam rifle from one of your other kits or buy the GM weapons set if you want to have a beam rifle. This is a great looking kit, and it has plenty of spots to add on weapons and accessories. This is a relatively inexpensive kit, and very fun to build. I would recommend picking it up if you’re looking for a fun Gunpla to build or if you’re looking for a new addition to your GM mobile suit collection. 😊
