HG 1/144 Chars Zaku II Revive

I haven’t posted any Gunpla pictures in a while, but I recently got a portable photo studio, so that should change soon. Anyway, this is the High Grade 1/144 Char’s Zaku II Revive. 🙂 This kit was a long time coming Bandai! Five years after releasing the HG 1/144 RX-78-2 Revive, fans can finally complete their dioramas of Amuro’s first encounter with Char Aznable! It may have taken Bandai five years to finally roll this kit out, but I can say that as a fan of Zakus, this kit does not disappoint! As expected from a Revive kit, the articulation is entire colonies beyond the original version of this kit released in 2002. This kit is super articulated for a high grade kit, and can faithfully recreate some of the most iconic action poses from Mobile Suit Gundam. Like any high grade Zaku, you’re going to want to fill in the gaps between the segments on the hoses, but apart from that, this kit needs little to no paint or panel lining. One particularly interesting thing about this kit is that you actually get two options for the waist armor (or the skirt as many fans call it). You get the standard plastic pieces, but you also get a flexible thin rubber option. Both work equally well for posting this kit. Being OCD about how I build my Gunpla, I went with the plastic option. I don’t have much negative to say about this kit other that the gun holding hands are a serious pain is the ass to work with. They make some poses a lot more time consuming than necessary, and I don’t like that you only get the angled option for the gun holding hands. Overall though, this is a REALLY nice high grade kit, and definitely one of the most anime accurate Zaku’s that Bandai has given us over the years. I highly recommend this kit for builders of all skill levels!
