Description
This is the Entry Grade 1/144 RX-78-2. 🙂 This kit is specifically made with beginners in mind. It requires no tools to assemble, no paint (didn’t stop from adding a little XD), no stickers, and no glue. The whole point of this one is to make the build as easy as possible for those who have never assembled a Gunpla before. That said, it’s fun for builders of all skill levels.
Because this kit was designed for simplicity, it doesn’t have any of the gimmicks you may be used from past RX-78-2s in this scale. It’s designed to only do the most basic stuff. It has a really good range of articulation, so you display it in all kinds of cool poses, but not as many as a High Grade kit. The major downside to this kit is that it doesn’t come with blades for the beam sabers. The beam sabers are removable, and the hands do hold them, but no blade parts are included for them. You should be able to just take a blade from one of your other RX-78-2s to fix this, but it’s really annoying to me that you have to do that with the kit. That’s honestly my only issue with this kit. It wasn’t made to have the bells and whistles of a High Grade kit, so I can’t knock too many points off for that.
Overall, for an $8 kit, this is a very nice looking RX-78-2. 🙂 It’s absolutely perfect for anyone that’s never put together a Gunpla before, as well as anyone looking for something quick and fun to put together. 🙂 If you’re a beginner, this is the RX-78-2 I recommend. If you have experience building plastic models, and are just looking for a good RX-78-2 model, I would recommend the High Grade 1/144 RX-78-2 Revive over this one.
