Blokees Classic Class TF One Starscream

This is the Blokees Classic Class Transformers One Starscream model kit. Like all kits in Blokees Transforms line, this kit requires no paint, tools, or glue to assemble. This kit has 87 pieces, and features light-up eyes. The light unit uses one 3V CR927 button cell battery. Unfortunately, this is one of those annoying Blokees kits where you have to take apart the torso section to change the battery in the light unit.

Transformers One introduced us to an interesting take on Starscream. Rather than being portrayed as the leader of the Seekers, he’s portrayed as the leader of the old Cybertron high guard. This kit is a spectacular looking recreation of how he looks in the movie. I was afraid when he was announced that he’d have the same limited head articulation as the Blokees Classic Class Transformers One Sentinel Prime, but despite the design of the upper body, the head movement on this kit is not obstructed in the least. The articulation is what you’d expect from a Blokees Classic Class kit, and the red, blue, and silver are all molded from a really nice metallic plastic, giving this kit a really nice finish. This kit also includes a tiny model of Megatron in his tank mode. Exactly why, I’m not sure, as it’s pretty tiny, but it’s still a fun little bonus.

For the most part, this is a pretty solid kit. I really only have two real issues with it. Both are fairly minor. First, the hands are a bit hard to swap out. My other issue with this kit is much more minor, and that’s that he has his Decepticon emblems (which you can’t see in this picture because his arms are blocking them). The reason I don’t like this is because he doesn’t get those until the post credits scene of the movie.

All in all, this is a very fun kit to build, and perfect for beginners and pros alike. 🙂 The build is very easy, and should only take between 30-45 minutes. Aside from the issue with the hands, this is a pretty solid kit. I do think that it’s worth picking up, especially to pair with the other Transformers One Blokees kits. 🙂
