Description
This is the Blokees Classic Class Transformers One Optimus Prime model kit. Like all kits in Blokees Transforms line, this kit requires no paint, tools, or glue to assemble. This kit has 79 pieces, and features light-up eyes, and a light-up Matrix chamber. The light unit uses one 3V CR927 button cell battery. Unfortunately, this is one of those annoying Blokees kits where you have to take apart the torso section to change the battery in the light unit.
Transformers One showed the gradual transformation of a cogless energon miner named Orion Pax into the heroic leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime. I actually dig his design in this movie. I’ve always been a fan of the Cybertron robot modes, and Transformers One gave Optimus a really nice futuristic look to him. While the Matrix of Leadership doesn’t come out of the chest area, the chest does still open to reveal it. You also get two different face pieces for this kit; one with the battle mask, and one without the battle mask. You also get the ion blaster Orion took from one of Sentinel’s guards, and that really cool energon axe we see in the movie. The articulation is mostly what I’ve come to expect from the Blokees Classic Class kits, except that this one has a really good range of motion in the head. Much better than the Megatron kit from this line.
As far as problems go, I really only have one with this kit. The colors on the axe are wrong. In the movie, the axe is yellow with blue blades, but the one in this kit is blue with yellow blades. Granted, it is more color separation than Hasbro has done with some of their figures, but I wish they had gotten the colors right.
All in all, this is a very fun kit to build, and perfect for beginners and pros alike. 🙂 The build is very easy, and should only take between 30-45 minutes. I really like this kit! The metallic red and blue plastic really makes the colors on this kit pop, and it’s honestly a blast to pose and fiddle around with. If you’re looking a good looking Transformers One Optimus Prime figure that doesn’t break the bank, and you don’t mind having to put it together, I definitely recommend this kit. 😄
