Blokees Classic Class DX Jet Wing Optimus Prime

This is the Blokees Classic Class DX Transformers Dark of The Moon Jet Wing Optimus Prime model kit. Like all kits in Blokees Transforms line, this kit requires no paint, tools, or glue to assemble. This kit has 163 pieces, and features a light-up eye and a light-up chest. The light unit uses one 3V CR927 button cell battery. Unfortunately, this is one of those annoying Blokees kits where you have to take apart the torso section to change the battery in the light unit.

The first thing I’m going to say about this kit is WOW! This is official my new favorite Optimus Prime kit by Blokees! They absolutely crushed it with this one! Being that this is the version of him from Dark of The Moon, there are a few subtle changes to his design, mainly in the abdominal area and in the forearms. And of course, he has the jet wing pack! As if that wasn’t awesome enough, Blokees threw in a plethora of additional weapons. In fact, you get almost all of the gear that he had in the movie! That’s what scored so many extra bonus points with me. There’s a lot of room to get creative for how you want to display this kit, and he does come with his regular forearms so you can swap those out for the blaster cannon arms if you want.

I really don’t want to critique this kit, because it’s so cool. In fact, the main issue I found wasn’t even with the kit itself, but in the instructions. In the instructions, there’s an error that mixes up the placement of the “B3 16” and “B3 17” pieces when assembling the wing pack. It says to use “B3 16” for the right wing, and “B3 17” for the left wing. This is a printing error. Use “B3 17” for the right wing, and “B3 16” for the left wing. Very important! This is really the first time I’ve found an error in the instructions of a model kit before. Hopefully they’ll fix that soon, but until then, be aware.

Overall, this is a fantastic kit, and one of the coolest Blokees Classic Class kits yet! I really can’t recommend this kit enough, especially if you’re a fan of the Michael Bay Transformers films. This kit is guaranteed to be an eye catcher on your shelf! 😄
