You might call me a Dabbler. I am an amateur photographer with a passion for wildflowers, fungi and waterfalls. I am also a traditional artist, using oil paints, acrylic paints, watercolors and colored pencils. I can also sew, knit and crochet. I will try almost any craft at least once. More recently, with the addition of one art program on my computer and another on my tablet, I have been delving into the world of digital art. I like the brushes, layer (LOVE the layers) and textures available, but it takes me a lot longer to create a digital painting than a traditional drawing or painting.
I see beauty everywhere, from the big to the tiny and from the obvious to the unnoticed. I joined DeviantArt to share what I can do and what I see in the world with others and to see what other artists see and imagine and how they bring it to life.
I also appreciate how art is used to make social statements. I am not easily offended, but not remotely politically correct. I don't care what a person's color, sex, gender, religion or politics are . . . people are human and WHO they are is all that matters. My page is a LGBTQ+ friendly page.
I have learned much since joining, and DeviantArt has encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone and try new things with my art.
