I've been expectionalluy busy over the last four weeks. I had three art workshops. One of them illustration for teens and two for kiddies. Anyway. I've used the money to repaint my house before my auld one, mother dearest came over to visit from the UK. Not that she could see it anyway, being blind and stuff but my house needed a lick of paint.
Anyway, back to the great news. I've got an apprenticeship!
I've been taken on board by a local tattoo artist who really loves my artwork so she's starting my training in less than an hour.
It's nearly ten o' clock at night here, but we went to the tattoo convention that was on this weekend and she really wanted to show me how people work. It was really interesting and I saw some really cool artwork and got a lot of free stickers and shite.
Anyway, I'm super happy about this. I'm just really baffled that I'm actually am good enough now to become a tattoo artist.
Of course, it will be a year or two before I'm even allowed to touch skin and I have to be upping my skill and practicing every single day. My artwork here will still remain the same, which is I draw fucking everything and I'll be posting my progression as a professional tattoo artist here.
Finally things are going super well for me.
The downside is, it is an unpaid apprenticeship and I'm will still have to do part time work so I can actually feed myself and pay bills, but this is something that I can use as a trade and that will get me work in any place around the world. Plus, my master is keeping me on after my training as a paid professional.
I'm just super excited that I'm finally doing something that I love and I'm skilled at and improving that skill even more.
In other news, I'm just back from the UK on Friday. Family problems are going off but I'd say it will be fine and shite.
I have to run off now and start studying. I'm getting my first tattoo tonight too. I'm thinking of getting a Nordic style crow as my family have an affinity for crows so it will mean something to me.
