The Ivory Tower by soma The Ivory Tower by soma
dreams these worlds. Go visit them.

Ivory tower side view.

A collaboration with `frail.
His drawing, and my color.

I hope that you will find this place as enchanting as I do.

*** This ivory tower is not actually the one from Fantasia; it is a beacon in another world. There are other towers there, hopefully you'll see more of them soon.
The idea of the ivory tower predates Neverending story by many eons, going back to the earliest reference in the Song of Solomon (7:4, to be precise). In the world you see here, the ivory tower represents sanctuary and hope.***

That beautiful Tower and the light of hopes.
I also have my tower and my temple of ivory
radiating eternal light in the kosmos.
My congratulations of heart to the creators

reminds me of Mona Lisa.. somehow.. I don`t know.. maybe the difference between heights of the wall and mountains at the background makes me feel so.. Very nice..

I know it's not the Fantasia "Ivory Tower", but I've faved it for our club because there's an Ayreon song about The NeverEnding Story and I thought my club members would like to see it. :-)

I love TNS! *huggle* The book was so haunting, and the movie was just so happy, I love them both ^^ Although I get kinda confused on whether to say Fantasia or Fantastica... Anyway, great picture, and congratulations!

Beautiful work. I like how your picture transends all the different ideas of the Ivory Tower so anyone can relate to it. I immediatly thought of The Neverending Story, but that's because I love that book so. Your coloring job is amazing ^_^

Great job! The colors are very soft and inviting, I think it suits the theme very well. Also, the over all feel of the picture is very good. It's simple, and soft colored, but you really get a sense of how this town is a beckon of hope. Great job.

This sort of reminds me of that book called The Neverending Story. I loved it when I was a kid..

Ahem. Yeah...I like the soft-ish feel of the colors. The overall simplicity really works well.

I really like how soft the green for the grass is, and how the windows look like stained glass now that it's colored. The colored picture reminds me of Le Petit Prince. Congratulations on such a successful colaboration.

Le Petit Prince is amongst my (admittedly very long) list of favorite books (along with Wind, Sand and Stars). So that is a huge compliment to me.
Thank you. :)

its a new spin on what you are used to, it brings out the wonder of a child while appealing to the inner one.
i adore the softness and blending of the colours.. a new begining.

i just cant stop gazing at it, i want to see what lies within!

i understand your comment, i just had to add my adoration in disagreement.
:-) have a great day!

It's not that I don't like the drawing. At the contrary, it tickles my imagination, just like you. But the manga-like colors are annoying.
