Timing chain snapped
Might need a whole top end of an engine

Oh dang. Must have caused quite the damage and noise when it happened. I can't see that being any cheap.

Yeah, valves are bent and the engine head has a big dent in it.
Did not make much noise surprisingly, just a tug while I was giving it gas.

Something like that is the kind of thing you'd expect to make a loud noise. Quite interesting.

Well, all I can do is wish you luck and that the repair won't cost too much. :(

Yeah, but my car has always been an oddity. It's weird.

The good news is that I found a used engine for a fair price, and they do not want the old engine back. So I can strip the old one for parts and sell them for money, or I can rebuild it and make money by selling it as a remanned engine.

Oh, that's good! You should actually be able to make more money by selling the parts separately than you'd get if you could sell the whole engine so I guess that'll help. I just don't know how much you'd be able to get if you'd invest in rebuilding it, though. Either way, despite the issue, it seems things are turning out somewhat good! :dummy:
