|For questions about commissions and other official inquiries, please email me at email@example.com|
Commissions are open! If you have an interest in commissioning me for an illustration, please contact me and we will discuss your needs. Quotes will be given based on discussion of your needs.
Here’s what to expect:
Get in touch with me, letting me know what you’re interested in (firstname.lastname@example.org). To make this process more expedient, please send me an email answering these questions:
quick pencil sketch, polished pencil sketch, digital ink, flat colors or detailed colors?
how many characters?
background? If yes, details and references of what you want
if you want something beyond a simple portrait/pose, send details of what you want characters to be doing, details of characters’ personalities/relationships to each other (if multiple)
do you have any reference images? attach them to the email and explain them if so.
do you have a specific timescale for when this needs to be completed?
does your commission not fit into any of the categories in question 1 (e.g. if you wanted an original character+clothing design sheet or something along those lines)? If so please describe what you are interested in in more depth.
do you want me to ship you the original? If yes, include your shipping address here. If not specified, I will email you the image file (there is an extra cost for shipping)
I will send you a price quote based on this information, and any further discussion of needs we have. After the quote, I will send you a thumbnail or thumbnails for an idea of what I’m planning for the finished composition. Once you choose a thumbnail you like and make any additional necessary comments, you can pay me via paypal. Once I have received payment I will start work on the commission!
That’s the basic commission process! If you are interested, please read my guidelines and terms posted below for further important information.
Commission Guidelines and Terms
-I reserve the right to refuse any commission for any reason.
-If I have to cancel a commission after it has been paid for, the commissioner will be refunded the full price of the commission, less any money transfer fees or other expenses (e.g. paypal fees). If a commissioner wants to cancel a commission after I have begun work on it, terms on a partial refund can be discussed, I will determine the size of the refund depending on how much time I have put into the commission at the time of cancellation.
-I must receive payment in full before starting a commission up to $100. If necessary, I will accept payment plans (once before I start and once upon receipt of art) for work priced above $100.
-I define starting the commission as beginning work on what will be the final draft. After initial discussion, once the commissioner agrees on a certain concept sketch, payment is expected before I will begin work at full size.
-If shipping of original image is requested, the commissioner will pay the added cost of shipping as part of commission price.
-Although I try to finish commissions as quickly as possible, my time to completion can vary: if you have time constraints on commission delivery, please let me know in your initial communications and I will either accommodate it or inform you if I am unable to accept the commission with that time scale.
-If you do NOT want me to post finished commissions, please inform me. I reserve the right to post and reproduce my work unless other terms are discussed and agreed upon.-You may not reproduce (in any way: prints, t-shirts, bags etc.) commissions of my work for sale unless you discuss this with me first. If you are interested in something like this and do want permission to reproduce my art, please do talk to me about it. I would be happy to discuss setting up a base rate for the commission plus some percentage of sales revenue you make on sales of reproductions of my work, all depending on the situation.
