[NEM] Training8-FirnenLetheDeirdre
After their wayward adventure in armor fitting, Firnen, Lethe, and Deirdre had decided they might as well watch some of the day's coliseum matches together. None of them really had other plans for the day, so when Lethe suggested the idea it hadn’t taken much to convince the other two to join him. He had taken a liking to the combat sports practiced there over the past months he and his coterie had been spending in the area. They would need to go home soon, there was no telling what sort of problems their absence had allowed to move into the territory, but he was confident they would visit more now. Firnen was interested in the treasures the champions could win. She had gotten fit for armor to have a go at earning her own to add to her collection. Deirdre and Lethe weren't convinced their companion for the day wasn’t a dragon in disguise at this point. And Deirdre was curious to see the spectacle. She hadn’t really made a habit of it before, adventuring being her area of expertise

The storm was starting to abate just a little finally. The winds had been howling and rain falling in sheets for the past day. And with the lingering thick cloud cover it was very hard to tell the time of day. But Carrion was pretty sure it was dusk at the earliest. But as dark as it was it should be night. She had spent the day with Mizrak as his guest at the palace. Omen had too, but the half skeletal pharaoh was still sleeping now that the storm had calmed to a light drizzle.
“What are you thinking about so hard?” Mizrak appeared in the doorway to find Carrion staring out the window.
Carrian made a dismissive sound, “I’m not thinking that hard. The view from here is pretty.”
Mizrak moved to join her and look out. They were higher up than most of the city here so could see much of it sprawling out and away. With the rain gradually slowing the visibility was good enough to see glittering lights from countless windows sheltered street lamps. It was like looking at an artificial

Dawn was washing over the city in an array of pink and gold, it was still early enough that the streets weren’t overly packed with people going about their daily business or enjoying the day’s festivities and markets. Yet. Lethe was sure that would change soon and make his little shopping quest all the more troublesome. And there were already more people and other nemeions around than he really wanted to bother with. Hopefully he could find some suitable gifts and get back to the others before things got too crazy.
“Hello, do you happen to know where a shop that sells shiny rocks might be?” Firnen appeared. The strange green cat with her mutations, not wholly unlike the champion Sildurh’s, was a newer acquaintance of Lethe’s. They had meet on a wild goose chase of an adventure and it seemed that the green nemeion might be lost in the city again.

Felagi would never have admitted it to the cocky bachelor that had ‘stolen’ her, but she had been getting tired from all the running. But with Helhiem’s appearance, the tables had turned drastically. The usually quiet stallion with his mismatched eyes looked about as furious as Felagi had ever seen him, and it was pretty clear to her that the younger bachelor didn’t stand a chance against him even before the fight began. The bay bachelor started to say something arrogant, but before the words could leave his mouth Helhiem had slammed full force into him. The bachelor was knocked out of the way and his breath was similarly knocked from his lungs. Coughing as he tried to recover he had time enough to fully pin his ears back before Helhiem was reared back on his hind legs and lashing out with his front hooves. The dark stallion’s teeth were bared and he was going for a grab on the bachelor’s neck.
Making perhaps the first good decision he had made so far, the bachelor pivoted and

The city was very loud today. The weather was nice and it seemed everyone had decided to to take the opportunity to spend the day roaming the streets and attending to errands. The area around the coliseum was no different and it didn’t take Firnen long to get lost. So many new sights, sounds, and smells. She had an appointment to have armor fitted to her so that she could get her own set soon, but… she wasn’t sure how to get to the armor shop she was meant to be finding. Focused on the signs she didn’t notice the long legged and rather fluffy pharaoh cat in the path until she had run squarely into her.
“Sorry!” The pink-ish stranger yelped. Firnan wasn’t sure why she was apologizing really, but at least she didn’t seem upset.
“No, it was my fault.” Firnan shook her head as she stepped back to give the stranger space, “I wasn’t watching where I was going. I’m Firnen, who are you?”
“Deirdre… I wasn’t watching where I was going either though. I’m a little lost if truth be told. I’m far

It was pretty clear that a storm was coming. Carrion eyed the darkening sky. It looked like it was getting late, but she knew that it was barely past midday at the earliest. The wind had kicked up and howled as it raced through the allies and streets of the city. She and Omen had been lurking on the outskirts of the city since the conclusion of all the coliseum festivities, and had been debating their next move. Neither of them cared much for love based festival that had taken the city by storm, but they also didn’t have any special plan for where to go next. They did each feel like they were missing something or someone in their pack, but neither had managed to figure that feeling out.
All that aside though, they needed to find a good abandoned shelter to slink into tonight. Staying out in what was pretty clearly going to be a doozy of a storm wasn’t going to be a good time. But… where could they go?
“Are you lost?” Carrion didn’t recognize the voice, but whoever he was, he

Acheron wondered if the city was ever not having some festival or other. It seemed like the previous celebrations at the great coliseum had barely concluded before the streets were littered with new decorations, banners, and tents of merchants pedaling all manner of festive food and trinkets. This time instead of violence, the celebrations seemed to be focused on love, so she supposed it made sense to some extent. Maybe to remind everyone that both were important aspects of life? Either way, Acheron was happy at all the new opportunities to… collect some new coins. Maybe ones she didn’t already have in her hoard of a collection back home. A sudden flash of brownish fluff from a side street dashing out to the street caught the big regal’s attention.
Narrowing her yellow eyes at the movement, Acheron was surprised to see fluffy ball of a domestic nemeion dashing to a pair of unattended sandals, scooping one up in his jaws, and then bolting down a side street. A human shouted after the

The decorations for the… well it wasn’t a ‘little party’, but it wasn’t a full on gala or anything either. Just nice kick off to the months festivities with seemingly everyone being invited. Cats and people were everywhere as were the food, drinks, and festive decorations. Most of the attendees had dressed up for the occasion or otherwise made themselves presentable, though at minimum Byron hadn’t bothered. Maybe a little bit, but the massive nemeion’s brown and black fur was still semi matted and claw marks were still obviously in the process of healing from the recent arena fights he had been in. Lavinia, in contrast, had her fur gleaming and shiny like snow glittering under the light of the sun. Noct Vir and Requiem were lurking in a corner surrounded by festive pink and white decorations contrasting with their bright crimson markings. They looked like they had had a solid bath as well for the occasion and probably could have blended into a fancy gala just as well as they blended

Lethe looked up at the darkened night sky. He’s lost twice against Sildurh now, and tonight was his last chance to beat the quick chimeric champion. At the last time he would be able to try during this year’s festival. He didn’t have high hopes for his odds. Sildurh was formidable and already had him beat 2 to 0 in their previous engagements. The arena was still supposed to be set up with terrain features and ruins to use as a bit of a dramatic setting as well as objects to interact with and fight around. Lethe liked that style better. It was more like what he was familiar with fighting to keep threats out of the coterie’s territory and such. One against one was still different and the loose rules of a staged engagement like this for sport and spectacle changed a lot about his usual fighting, but it was nice. Fun even.
He could understand why cats like Sildurh and the other champions of the Caesar made it their life. He had heard tales of illegal places where he doubted anyone would

Lethe and Byron both weren’t certain how exactly it had become their job to help train Bruno to fight nemeions one on one, but Byron was pretty certain it was Lavinia’s doing. That was the main reason he had agreed to keep at it. He wasn’t certain about Lethe, but he suspected it had to do with his small albino companion’s infectious excitement about the whole thing. Some time between the initial arguing with the dog and trying to demonstrate why it was a bad idea for him to fight nemeions, Lavinia had become quite invested in the whole saga and she taken to setting up training times and scheming up different scenarios to try. It was a bit of a game for her really. Lethe was still in the city waiting for his final match against Sildurh, so had ultimately agreed to continue helping with the adventure that was teaching Bruno new fighting techniques.
And they had been making progress. Byron wasn’t the most talkative but he conveyed his points concisely and when his description was

Corvus had to admit, Flora Springs was a beautiful track. Very well put together and maintained, and she couldn’t find much to dislike about it. Really the only thing Corvus could do without was the recent rain and undoubtedly slick track for the race, but that wasn’t the fault of Flora Springs so much as unfortunate weather a few hours before. It was still overcast now but the skies seemed content to watch and wait for now, leaving the crowd of spectators gathered for the duel in damp seats and with an umbrella close to hand should the rains start up again.
Myth was excited, so was Corvus. She could feel his energy as they neared the starting box and she knew he could feel hers as well. This was the second duel her stables had accepted, and she was just as intrigued to see how Apocalypse's half brother did against the other stables. It was mostly the same set of stables participating in this round of dueling, though it was split on who was entering with the same horse and who was

In general, Corvus always enjoyed the atmosphere of the day of a race. The anticipation and excitement mingled with the nervous energy of people who bet perhaps a bit too much and the nerves that always came with watching the horses get into the starting box. She wasn’t riding today, Acaelus had taken a particular liking to Apocalypse and had requested being assigned to work with the filly almost the same instant she had been born. Which was fine with Corvus, she had done a fine job working with the feisty grullo roan, and Corvus was excited to see how the untested mare did in today's dueling race.
All the horses were in the starting box now. The day was sunny and the light glistened off the small lake central to the Chattanooga Downs track. Moments passed with each horse settled into their box, all they were waiting for was the signal to start, and they didn’t have to wait long. In a flash of vibrant silks and a myriad of different colored Shiekabians the race was on. It would be

Dathomir wasn’t Corvus’ home planet despite the common confusion on that matter from other individuals back at the temple. Corvus had been born on Iridonia, but she hadn’t grown up there as she should have, instead she had been stolen away by the Sith empire and brought to Dathomir to train as an assassin. The bonus of having sentinel force abilities she supposed; however it had been years since she had returned and even longer since she had been a pawn for the empire. Félagi hissed drawing her attention back to the present. The brown and black cat’s curved ears were pinned back and it was clear he didn’t like something.
Corvus focused and searched their surroundings with the force. She was highly skilled in sensing things in this manner, and honestly wouldn’t have been hampered by losing her sight because of it, but what she was really looking for was oddly absent. There was no other force sensitive lifeforms around. Nothing in fact, except for the twisted trees looming out of the

Sara still wasn’t sure what was crashing through the undergrowth after her and Fajer, but it wasn’t showing any signs of stopping. On the bright side, she was still on the dark colored shedu’s back and whatever was giving chase didn’t seem able to close the gap between them. Fajer was too fast. All they had to do was keep going, the thing would eventually give up right?
Ahead the sound of rushing water slowly grew in volume, and Sara realized that they were hurtling straight for the part of the river that was deep, narrow, and fast. On almost any other shedu, Sara wouldn’t have been worried about it, but with Fajer water could be a problem. He loved mud and would roll in the stuff at any given moment with or without expensive tack on, but water? Hard no. Quickly, Sara ran through her options. They could keep going straight and practically run into the river, maybe Fajer would jump it, maybe not. Or they could turn around and try to dodge whatever was after them and bolt for home.

It was interesting how some cats preferred to turn one way over the other. Something like being left or right-handed maybe, but either way, it was a factor that Shivas would rather know about Pharos than not. Besides, it wasn’t all that hard of a thing to figure out. They would just go to the training track and run a few trails in both directions, and by the end of it, Shivas should have a pretty good idea of which way Pharos preferred.
Counterclockwise, less formally know as left, would be the subject of today’s trials. While it might not have seemed like running in a circle, well more of an oval really, was that complicated a principle, wen you were doing in on the back of a large cat at high speeds suddenly things weren’t so straight forward. As Pharos and Shivas barreled into the first turn, Shivas adjusted her body weight just as he dipped his shoulder and flew into the turn. Momentum pulled at them as they stuck near the silver rail and barely slowed down from their full sprint

ARPG Literature Commissions (updated a bit)
I decided to try opening commissions for a bit just to see if there is any interest. I am only in a few ARPG's personally, but I can look up the requirements for any requested. Below I have listed the prices and some examples only for the groups I'm a part of, but if you want to know the way I figured the prices it is $1 per 100 words rounded to the nearest hundred. The word count will be based off of the minimum word count for the activity (For example a Shedu SFT has a min word count of 350 so I would charge $4 even if I ended up writing 500 words on it. This is because sometimes I run over the word count unintentionally) You may request...

The weather in the mountains of Roenden was notoriously foul, but for the past three days the skies had been remarkably clear and the wind only a constant brisk breeze. All in all, it was perfect weather to be outside in and Pan and the grey Tyrian known as Goyle were not going to miss the opportunity to explore their homeland a bit more and maybe even catch some of the elusive mountain goats that roamed the region. They had been soaring high over the craggy mountain ridges for hours just enjoying the way the sunlight reflected off the snow making the mountain side look like it had been turned to diamond by a skilled mage. The continent of Roenden was known for its harsh wind and treacherous terrain, but, fortunately for Pan and Goyle, all they really had to worry about today was the strong wind coming from the north and bringing with it stone-grey clouds laden with snow. The ability to fly certainly speed up travel time in the unforgiving mountains and prevented them from needing to worry about the loose shale and deep snow drifts that were the bane of land-bound travelers in this part of the world. Goyle, a Tyrian the color of grey stone, had spotted a herd of caribou earlier in the day as he was stretching his wings and scouting the area whil...

The sky was a fathomless black smeared across with thin grey clouds and broken up by the innumerable silver flecks of stars. There was not much light as the moon had receded to no more than a thin crescent much like the talon of a harpia stryx. On the stony grey mountains, a large pale white creature was poking around at the cervices and course shrubbery that grew out of eroded cracks in the granite. Even with next to no moonlight the nocturnal stryx had no problem seeing the odd bits and pieces of natural debris scattered all about, and thanks to his pale color nothing that was looking in his direction could fail to see him.
