I'm not very familiar with traditional drawings (seeing as I can't draw for anyones life) But wow! This is lovely! The shading creates such an impact, the angle is very surprising, but it works so well, almost like a piece of a shattered mirror. On a con side the figure's face in the mirror is a little un balanced and a bit cartoonish(which is fine!) but you have plenty of time to work on human figures(so don't worry ^^.) This has so many little details too! like the glare on the window pane, and all the joints in the spinal cord of the skeleton, to the calander on the dest and the knobs on the drawrs. This is amazing and beautiful. A simply stunning job!

First up, I love how this was done all in pencil, the shading and lining is so detailed. It makes the reader keep thinking on what this piece might be about. "Skeletons don't read books." But the image in the mirror shows the skeleton in skin? It's a wonder of what might be on the skeletons book if the girl has the title of as said title of art. The only real problem I see in this piece is the crop, I mean, it's on a interesting angle but it kinda cuts off the piece in some range. That's the only problem I see but that is to my opinion.
Otherwise, this is a great piece dear! Well done!

Love the B&W scheme to go with the concept. The unique framing is nice, and the touches of details accentuates the beauty of the image.

Well, what inspired it was my art teacher showing me the skeleton in the mirror so I wanted to do it from the skeleton's perspective. While the title was inspired by the The Adventures of the Bailey School Kids Series.

Thank you, I really want to try this again sometime to be honest.

There are three things that pop into my head when I see this:

1. This looks like anorexia but even more extreme.

2. Is this skeleton a dead person? If so, does said-person still believe she's alive?

3. The diamond position instead of a regular landscape rectangle is something I never really see.

It's a play off the skeleton in the mirror drawing, I can't remember who did it though. It was an art assignment from my university.

I really like doing the odd border thing, but I'm not sure how well received it is.

Beautiful work with the soft coloring/shading, it's a very good work
the only thing I can point out is the reflection in the mirror, the perspective it is not in the right angle, but I know that can be difficult sometimes, but still, it's a very good drawing, very interesting, amazing work keep it up

Thank you.

I did notice the perspective was off, but I hadn't noticed until it was too late, and I had a good shade on it. I just didn't have the patience to go back in and redo that entire section. Maybe one day this will be a drawing I revisit!

Thanks :D

Thanks, it took AGES. I worked on it for a drawing course I did, where the only project for the entire semester was this single piece. He always pressed me for contrast and I am still amazed that this was done by me. I'm really glad you liked it :D

Well, it would seem that this particular skeleton heard the title and thought "challenge accepted", eh? ;)
I love the surreal atmosphere of this, actually. It seems rather dream-like.

Thanks, I quite enjoyed doing this piece, and I wanted the book to be ironic like a series I used to read as a kid.

Well it's always up to you the artist ... to me weird is often good cause it's unique ... with my experience especially with art, one can't please everyone ... that's kind of the great thing about art, having different views and likes etc ... like most things creative, we all have our personal tastes.

Hi! I'm commenting for ProjectComment comment tags! My word was girl. This artwork caught my eye in particular because it seemed to have an interesting concept to it.
Before I start talking about this artwork, I thought I should mention that I do realize that is was drawn in 2013 xD But even still, it's a really great picture, and I thought I should leave a comment on it. It also matched my tag word pretty well!

I gather a few different meanings from this art. At the beginning, I thought that the picture expressed the skeletons desire to become human. From holding the book it made me think that It wanted to imagine what it would be like to be human. Then I thought that maybe the skeleton just wanted to imagine what it would be like to have a friend. Either way, I think the concept is brilliant.

The details in this artwork are great. I love the way you drew and shaded the bones on the skeleton, and the panels in the wall. The draw and the window are also well shaded.

The only things that I would do differently (and this is me being picky >.<) is maybe make the shading darker and the lighter parts lighter. That way I think the details would stand out even more. And I think that the girl in the mirrors left arm should be lifted up a bit to the same height as the other arm.

Other than those things, I think this drawing is amazing, and a wonderful concept. Keep up the great work :la:

Tag you're it! You will be tagging Efirende and your word is pink!

Thank you, I realise that I really need to do more art like this... it's been so long since I've done such a nice picture like this after all.

Actually, I was doing a take on looking into the mirror and seeing a skeleton, I wanted to show what it looked like from the skeleton's point of view. I gave her a book so that way she matched the girl in the mirror, which if you look carefully, it says "Skeletons don't read books" - the title of the piece.

I really did take a while to make sure that I got all the details, I was really worried it wouldn't come out right. I'm just happy that it went as well as it did.

yes, I do know that I really should've pushed the contrast a little more. That's something I work on with my current art, although I do a lot better with contrast in my photography than I do with my drawn art.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment in so much detail :D
