My name is Ian Gorton aka Soapfish (from Japanese "Ian" brand soap and "Gorton" brand fish). I grew up in Minneapolis-St.Paul where I live and work.
I can't remember a time when I didn't draw. I always wanted to be an artist. I grew up drawing comic book, video game, and anime characters. I received formal "traditional" art training during my childhood (ie: painting, drawing, sculpture)
I graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2009. Since going to MCAD, where I received less "traditional" art instruction, I have moved to a semi-digital process where I work in and out of the computer.
Shonen fanart is my current passion (it's too much fun!), but I am working on various independent, original works.

--Akira Toriyama is an artistic genius.
--One Piece is the greatest series currently in
publication, maybe one of the best ever.
--Say what you will about the story, Bleach has
some of the best comic formalism I have ever
seen. Kubo's rhythm of big and small, black and
white, action and rest, is flawless. He's also
one of the most poetic Shonen artists I have seen.
