Spiral Knights - Winter Snipe

I've been wanting to draw a penguin-snipe crossover for a long time, and since there's a seasonal contest coming up, I figure this would be a great chance to do so

For some reasons, I think the single-coloured snipes are a bit bland to represent a specific season, so I decided to mix in different colours and patterns found from other birds IRL. And so this is what you get when you combine a bird from a PC game with a penguin (and a snowy owl).

(I am this close to add a feather-tuft on top of its eyes, aurora streaks at the background and a festive scarf all because of the nature of the winter theme. I guess it can be done for a Christmas costume greeting card. Just maybe.)

Not sure if I have overdone the feathers, or if it's a bad decision to introduce yellow into the colour scheme, but overall I'm glad it turned out well. Time for a new Facebook Timeline cover! (and deviantID)
