Marth (even though he/she is an obvious reference to Fire Emblem: Awakening) belongs to
. The reason why Lin passed Birch over to him is simply because she wishes to branch out to more guild members. She's essentially testing his trust, and a masked fellow is someone you're not very likely to trust, so... He better take good care of Birch.
Either that or you're messing with arguably one of the Trackers Guild's most powerful members. But that's pretty self-explanatory.
Also, I realized Marth kinda blended into the background on the last page so I'm giving him more screen time as an apology. So there.
Next time, more caves and definitely more cameos.
