You know I've had a few thoughts about whatever the next Pokemon game(s) will be and what I want them to be.

First, let's talk about Diamond and Pearl remakes. While I really want Gen 4 remakes and I do think they'll come at some point (I won't say when I think they'll come), I don't want Diamond and Pearl remakes. I want a Platinum remake. I personally think Platinum is far more fleshed out and better than Diamond and Pearl. But I have other reasons for this. No generation has had three sets of dual games. I don't know what the odds of this are but I don't care what they are. Here's what I want:
The next games to be sequels to Sun and Moon (and for it to be TWO versions so each can properly follow up each version so like Stars-Moon and Stars-Sun or Sun 2 and Moon 2 or Solar Eclipse and Lunar Eclipse. I don't really want any thrid version(s) to Sun and Moon unless if it's a sequel or if it's on Switch. But one thing that has always made me doubt that this third version would be on Switch is that they've never switched consoles in the same generation. So to combat this they would have to release on both 3DS and then a better-looking version on Switch. BUT, the problem would be communication between these games. How would a 3DS Sun and Moon or third version battle someone on the Switch third version?

Then, after the sequels I would want a Platinum Remake. :) I just really want more Platinum love.

As much as i want a platinum remake i'll highly doubt it'll happen seeing how crystal and emerald didn't happen. I think DP Remake could happen this gen or next because game freak tend to remake games on new console. Pokemon Stars/Eclipse or prism maybe OR No third game/sequel. I'm mean this is game freak after all, they don't want to be predictable .

When I think about it, this fourth gen remake would probably wait until the next system. Though GameFreak really does want to not be predictable, so that's a reason that a Platinum remake could happen over a Diamond and Pearl one.

One of two (potentially three) scenarios IS going to happen, I can guarantee it.

A) "Stars" or whatever comes out this year on the Nintendo Switch, then DP Remakes happen next year

B) "Stars" comes out on the 3DS next year and DP Remakes don't happen at all

C) DP Remakes happen either next year or this year for the 3DS and nothing else happens, basically being a repeat of Gen 6 and screwing Necrozma out of a game of its own.

I swear if MY BOI Necrozma gets screwed I'm going to be really upset. I wouldn't mind a Switch game of Stars (whether a third version or a sequel but if it was a third then I would say it should go on Switch), but the thing is that we don't know how or if the 3DS will be able to communicate with the Switch. My guess would be no but who knows. How would Pokemon be transferred or trade between the Switch and 3DS versions, and how would they battle together?

That was my concern as well. I didn't quite understand how Stars or whatever could logically be on the Switch and still communicate with 3DS games like normal.

But, what we can infer now is that the Stars Rumors are actually false, as they mentioned that the games would be revealed during the Nintendo Switch presentation, which we now know they weren't (SPLATOON 2 THOUGH HNNNNGGGGGG).
