Right now, I'm going to assume that only Kanto Pokemon are getting Alolan forms. If some other Pokemon not from Kanto got one, which would you want? I would want the Johto or Sinnoh Starters (okay not one in this case) to get them. I've been wanting Johto Starters to get megas, but I think some cool twists on them would be just as cool. And I feel like the Sinnoh starters have a lot of Alolan potential (and it could tease people about Gen 4 Remakes)

I'm almost positive it's only going to be Kanto Pokemon, mainly because it's their anniversary, so they are getting all the love.
But if it DID happen, I would want an Alolan Shinx. It would be black and lighter blue, as well as puffier and be Ice Electric. It would be so cute.

I bet it's a Kanto affair only too XD

That's because they continued to tell us "prepare yourselves to celebrate the 20th anniversary!" lol why such a discrepancy in Alola region? I mean, unless they are going to introduce new turtles/swans/sea gulls, there are other Pokèmon from other generations which could be eligible to have an Alolan form (Carracosta/Pelipper/Swanna xD) :|

Don't expect new megas this time folks!

I don't think Alolan forms will affect starters. Remember its about Pokemon that have spent a long time, and adapted to the climate or social patterns of Alola.

And I really don't think we'll get them for Starters either. But even though they're starters, they're still Pokemon. I don't think it's quite the same, but I wouldn't be surprised to see someone in a house or a city gift you with an Alolan Form Starter. Starters "technically" live in the wild just like any other Pokemon even though you never encounter them.

Realistically, they would be super rare in the wild (except for the whole group of Charizard in the series). But yeah your point actually makes a lot of sense, if the the starter Pokemon has obviously spent some time in Alola, it should obviously adapt.

But I mean... both Meganium and Torterra could do some awesome stuff with Alolan forms.
Just imagine a Moon-themed Fairy-type Meganium or a Volcano-themed Torterra!
