What Nintendo IP do you think could actually work as an Open World Game? I'm sticking with Donkey Kong.

In all honesty, I like the idea of a more story-based Splatoon game. I'd like to see more of what the world looks like in Splatoon, rather than just the areas we see in the Story Mode, the stages, and Inkopolis. I can imagine an open world where new and exotic Splatoon enemies lie, and you have to go out and collect something or defeat some kind of syndicate, and you have to beat bosses in order to overcome obstacles and stuff. Different areas like jungles, ruins, even deserts, all with different obstacles that make traversing the area difficult and making ink conservation a must. It would be really cool, imo. Splatoon is great as a fps, but they've developed this entire world around it, and I'd like to see how it could be expanded on in a more story-driven setting.

Yeah Splatoon would be a great adventure game. There really is so much of the world that they could show off or build on. They could bring the Octarians back or create a brand new enemy, but exploring the vast world beyond Inkopolis would be really fun. If an NX Splatoon is in development (If it was I'm sure it'd be in extremely early stages) or is going to be in development, it would be cool to see the fps multiplayer stay but have a larger story mode. I enjoyed Splatoon's single player, but it was fairly short, and exploring a world with a deeper story would be very exciting.

Open world Pokemon would be awesome. Challenging the gyms in any order, catching higher levels before the first gym. Would be glorious.

That would certainly be interesting. I'd love a game where you were free to explore every single part of the region, with no barriers.

While I sadly don't think challenging the gyms in any order is too likely (It'd be really cool though), in the very distant future, assuming Pokemon continues long into the future onto stronger hardware, I could see a region with a region where everything's explorable. It would be huge! It would make your Pokemon adventure far greater in scope!

Do you mean open world or MMO? I'd love a never ending Pikmin

I'm actually thinking of the old Ice Climbers IP, or perhaps Kid Icarus, but really open world, like the new Legend of Zelda.

Now that you mention the Ice Climber IP, a vast mountain adventure with the two would be pretty interesting.

Exactly! They got the Ice Climbers as their IP, so why not experient with it, as they only got one game?

They've certainly gained more attention with their inclusion in past Smash Bros games, so I completely agree. But at the very least, it'd be cool to see a $10-$15 Eshop title on the Wii U or 3DS (or both) of a new Ice Climber game with similar gameplay to the original with better graphics and new levels.

Of course, I'd much rather see a 3D open world game on the Wii U (or NX).

Exactly, like how the MOTHER/EarthBound series raised it popularity through Smash. And yeah, give them atleast a small eShop game to start with, but it would be amazing to see them expand their old IPs, and experiment with new ones! Like they did at the NES era with Clu Clu Land, Balloon Fighter...

Most likely on the NX, as it will have increases specifications, though!

Yes! I look at this: i.imgur.com/VviBk1v.png and I picture the game that you and I are thinking. I would be soooo in favor of a game like it! Honestly I think it would be fantastic in a Cell Shaded Wind Waker art style. But any Ice Climber, Climbing Adventure game would be amazing. Heck, even a less graphically appealing 3DS game with the same concept would still greatly get my attention

But yes, I really want to see them expand their old IPs as well. I'd like to see them used more than just cameos as Smash Bros trophies or Assist Trophies. Even though I sucked at Clu Clu Land, I'd still be on board for a remake. AND BALLOON FIGHTER! There are SO many ways they could put new spins on that one. 3D adventure, Shooter, Small Scale Fighter, and heck even a 2D Platformer could be really cool!

Nintendo did just mention in an investor meeting yesterday that any Nintendo IP was possible for their mobile market, and frankly, I'd like to see the older IP's take the helm for mobile games more than some of the more known ones! I have no problem with Fire Emblem or Animal Crossing getting mobile games, but I think a great way to bring them back would be bring em into mobile games!

Yeah, that would look amazing! I would prefer a more 'cartoony' style for the two, though. But still, I wanna get an Ice Climbers game! xD
Cell Shaddd would be interesting, but I would rather see actually in clay form, like they did with Kirby and the Rainbow Curse (even though I don't like the game itself).

Exactly! Nintendo, use those darned IPs while you have them! Let small developping teams experiment with those small IPs and see if they can make it a success again!

I know about that, including their statement about the NX! However, I think they might use other big IPs for their mobile games. Most likely Metroid, due to the upcoming failure of Prime Federation Force....

Oooooo a clay style would be REALLY cool! I'm imagining the mountains in a clay style and I'm loving it! I love it when Nintendo experiments with interesting art styles. I can agree that Rainbow Curse wasn't really great, but the art style was awesome! Though we really seem to only see it with Yoshi and Kirby. It'd be cool to see some more clay art styles or even a hand-drawn art style like Cuphead!

Yeah I'm just wanting a resurrection of those old IP's :/
