I truly appreciate all the effort that went into the final season of Samurai Jack. The fact that they devoted time to a series, that showed no chance for revival, and gave it a more adult-tone to it...makes it such a beautiful experience. There were obviously some issues that couldn't be overcome, due to the strict 10 episode, ~22 minute slot time - but it had a conclusion worth waiting for.
I agree. Many series that have the issue Samurai Jack had don't ever get a final season. But I was delighted to see that they actually devoted time to concluding the series.
I never saw the original except one or two episodes, but it was interesting to watch, I think my main concern is that it was really similar to the anime Gurren Lagann with how it went, regardless, I'm glad that Genndy had finished his series with an actual conclusion.
I admittedly know almost nothing about Gurren Lagann, but based on other people's reactions: hoo boy If you think the original 4 season's had Gurren Lagann parallels, there is a VERY large one in the fifth season
