Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack 3 Prediction by Snivy101 Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack 3 Prediction by Snivy101
After Nintendo recently confirmed more DLC for Smash Bros and Mario Kart 8, I decided to throw together my own "prediction" for Mario Kart 8's third DLC pack.

Characters: Diddy Kong (Represents DK Jungle Parkway), Dixie Kong (Represents Countryside Course), and Kamek (Represents Midnight Village)
Karts and Parts:
-Barrel Train
*Banana Glider
-Bark Bike
-Karpet
*Mystical Tires
-Cosmo Liner (Samus's Gunship)

**For the Course maps, when the course becomes very thin, it's most likely in the anti-gravity section and has turned 45-90 degrees.
Courses:
-Duck Hunt: Grassy field level whose boundaries are marked off by wooden fences. Ducks fly around the course with the occasional gunshot. Simple course with a few trees as obstacles.
-Snowcone Land: A course of rainbow snow. Snow Pokies and snow cones act as obstacles in the course.
-Wii Toad's Factory: Same as the original with exception of a small underwater section, an Antigravity section, and a Glider Section.
-Countryside Course: A 3 Part Course that takes place in a mountainous countryside. Starting at a small village, you'll go over to a small train station and glide over to a train track section. Beware of the train too! After the long straight train section, you'll move up into the mountain cave for the second section. After a small cavern with a waterfall that you can go into (You're in anti-gravity so the waterfall moves sideways), you'll move out the other side of the mountain, now over a tall cliff. Next you'll enter the third section. Also for note, the Blue A marks a small area that actually is you move directly upward via anti-gravity (you can't see it because it's a bird's eye view) After you arrive at the grassy top of the mountain, you'll go a little farther into a village and then to the finish line.
-N64 DK Jungle Parkway: Same as the original only with a little shallow underwater section.
-Midnight Village: Nighttime setting with crows and bats everywhere. The large black area is a graveyard scattered with tombstone obstacles.
-Honeyhive Raceway: Course that takes place in a giant bee hive with honey everywhere. The entire course is in anti gravity, and at the bottom of the map you have exited the hive and are going through water on the ground.
-GCN Mushroom City: A beautifully recreated Mushroom City in HD with a few small changes. First, the small short cut that cuts between two buildings now leads into a glider section, and toward the end of the course (bottom of the map) there's a new antigravity section just like the ones in N64 Toad's Turnpike.

Bowser Jr needs to come back to the Roster, and FINALLY having Kamek would be awesome. I wonder if they'd include an Inkling as cross-promotion?

Inkling would be... interesting. I would be totally on board but I don't really see it happening. I see it working much better with Smash Bros.

There's the míi inkling outfit DLC coming for smash though so unfortunately no characters from the new franchise there this time around!

I wouldn't be quick to make that conclusion just yet. While I do see what you mean and having the costumes cuts their chances by Sakurai himself, the Fighter Ballot seems to still give hope to them. After all, Link got a Mii costume in the DLC costume pack, so it's not impossible. Link and a Link Outfit; Inkling and Inkling Outfits. If they win the votes to get it, I'd bet Sakurai wouldn't hesitate to put them in.

But despite me really wanting them in, I can say that I still don't think it's the most likely.

Interesting choices but I'm gonna say that I'm not a huge fan of your choices. I do love the idea of Mushroom City, but the rest sort of seem mediocre to me. I would probably have to see the entire courses to truly get an opinion on them opposed to just their stage maps, of course, but they don't seem to really catch my attention like the DLC courses now have. Snowcone Land actually might be kind of interesting, but it's really hard to tell what they're like simply from maps. I do like the idea of doing DLC predictions, though! It's always fun. :)

Thanks! I do easily see your points. The ideas are obviously in my head so I know what they'd look like but I do agree that it's harder for everyone else to see it as I do for obvious reasons. I see DK's Jungle Parkway least likely honestly despite me putting it down. I was really just trying to fit a Donkey Kong course in there hence this would be a DK DLC Pack. I have another one I'm doing with better Retro courses. Maybe I'll try and get/create a few pics to get a feel of the course.

That would be quite interesting to see! :) Any recreated retro course has lots of potential in Nintendo's eyes, so who knows what they could add next!

Exactly! Honestly, Cheese Land (despite it being given a more desert feel) is probably one of my favorite Retro DLC Courses (Nothing beats Royal Raceway for me so only DLC)

just gonna put it out there, but i do not think we'll ever get a duck hunt stage...  the other stage predictions though could happen.
I feel though toad's factory would stay the same save for anti gravity on the bulldozers and no underwater area, and the glider on the big jump.

Yeah I actually feel exactly the same, but I can dream? I find it less likely than Ridley in Smash (Which is a good thing)

Ridley's already got a role in smash, and even if people vote he won't get upgraded, the devs made it very clear they don't want him playable, so neither are likely.

Exactly. I never wanted him in, and it is impossible for him to playable in this Smash

same, he really is too big, and even the creator sakurai doesn't feel like it'd be ridley anymore if he was shrunk down like that.

These are all pretty neat. I especially wouldn't mind seeing Toads Factory or Jungle Parkway. I always thought they were fun on the Wii. :)
I hope really Dry Bones, Diddy Kong, King Boo, Bowser Junior and/or Funky Kong will make a return. On the other hand, I'm curious if and which other non-Mario characters they will add. But let's be real here, I'll buy the DLC anyway. ^^;

Yeah! I want all of them back!

Btw, I'll accept your request tonight or tomorrow when I get on Mario Kart

There's going to be more?! Yay I'm excited, the DLC packs have been great so far! It'll be interesting to see what characters they bring in. If I had to guess I would say King Boo will be one of them.

King Boo would be great too! Yes Nintendo release there sales info for the fiscal year of 2014, and they said that because of their great success, more DLC packs for Smash and Kart are on the way. I think their DLC packs will introduce 1 returning character at most per pack and have the other two new. But I wouldn't mind King Boo back!

Awesome! I can't wait to get more DLC packs for Mario Kart, they're so good. I think you are right that there will be 1 returning character in each pack so if they come out with two more DLC packs I would like Diddy Kong as well, or Bowser Jr.
