A Colossal Bisharp Spotted! by Snivy101 A Colossal Bisharp Spotted! by Snivy101
The interface was a little weird for this one. Being only a mockup, it may be subject to change later on.

A brand new battle type that occurs post-game for Quartz and Topaz! Giant Battles! Even after the disbanding Team Nova, former Team Nova scientists and grunts still are working on another project: Gigantic Mutation. These post-game boss Pokemon are fought along an extra story line. In this case, you're fighting a Giant Bisharp in Occasus City. This is the third Giant Pokemon you will face. Fakemon and Pokemon will be mutated in the story line.

How these battles work:
You are granted the use of your entire party and all of your moves and abilities. Items however are unable to be used to an unexplainable chemical that infects Pokemon, making your held and bag items futile. This adds some challenge to the fights because you cannot heal any Pokemon or use Mega Evolutions. Running is also prohibited. You're only options are switching to another party Pokemon or fighting the Giant Pokemon. Upon tapping either FIGHT or POKEMON, the menu for either action will take over the bottom screen.
The Giant Pokemon themselves have 4 moves and an ability like all other Pokemon, but they have no level. They have a set amount of health also (Bisharp has 750). All Giant Pokemon have relative stats of the level 90 version of the respective Pokemon, and EXP will also come in GIANT amounts.

this is a great idea!  and really well thought of.
remember how there were giant pokemon in the anime?  jigglypuff, alakazam, gengar, dragonite, etc.
this should be made canon!

It kind of reminds me of that one movie in pokestar studios

I really like this concept. Makes me think of the latest Mario & Luigi games where you had Giant fights. This seems kinda similar, although here's only 1 giant. =P
Would love to see this kind of battle in a real Pokemon game. I mean technically most Legendaries (Lugia, Ho-Oh, Groudon, Kyogre, etc.) are huge, but in the games they aren't depicted like that, maybe Legendary battles should become Giant battles. =P

Also I love the interface, with the placement of the menu and HP bars. It is really unique and different. :)

Thanks ;)

I actually took some inspiration from Pokestar Studio battles in addition to Giant Battles in Mario and Luigi. I originally was ripping backgrounds from Black and White 2, and ripped the Pokestar Movie Backgrounds, and wanted to put them to some use. That and using some inspiration to draw the buildings based on Castelia's buildings from a distance, I drew up the background for this. And I thought Giant Battles seemed like a unique way to show these backgrounds off. I actually have to make a high-resolution version of the Pokemon's legs to make this work. So if you resize the Bisharp legs by 25% and compare them to Bisharp's normal sprite, you'll notice that they have more detail and are twice as large.
