Listening Across Time
What does it mean?
These symbols carved in stone?
Ancient as the marrow in my bones.
Now they are seen,
Deciphered by human kind,
Alas, it is not wisdom of the mind.
For the Rosetta Stone is not truth,
But only religious propaganda,
A pharaoh’s claim to greatness,
Also written in Greek lingua franca.
Yet it provided the secrets,
To the meaning of what was hidden,
Behind the mysterious hieroglyphs,
In the Book of the Dead written.
Now to a different future we speak,
With the voice of Mother Earth,
In a golden record sent forth.
A message sailing across time,
To an unknown star faring civilization,
That could solve our blue equation.
It is our art and science on a voyage,
Across millions of light years,
A message in a bottle filled with hope,
To be heard by the Cosmos's ears.
We were here and once we lived,
In the third jewel of the sun,
We built pyramids and satellites,
And this world was and is our home.
Look up and you will see the reply,
