Snow Angels (Winter Festival 2020)

Delphos often struggled to sleep, so tonight was not unusual for him. He’d laid on his old, thin mattress for a long time with Puck tucked up against him, his breaths soft and sweet in the darkness of their apartment. Outside, it was strangely still, a quiet he’d not experienced before. That was, at least in part, why he could not sleep. No matter the weather, usually someone was fighting on the street, cars would motor by, there was simply the noise of the city. Tonight, however, there had been snow. The winter before not a flake had fallen, and so this storm seemed to have an unusual effect on everyone. It was as though the entire city had seen the sky grant them snow, a sign of normalcy, and they had curled up under their blankets and finally rested. Everyone in the whole city seemed to be partaking in this calm save for himself. Delphos was not always a fan of the din of a city, but it was almost better than the silence. It made his heart race and his palm clammy, as the thought

The Tornado - Draw-a-Palooza 2020

Roman put his hands on his hips, staring at the books on the shelf before him. He’d dealt with a lot of unruly library goers in the past, students with deadlines, children who didn’t know any better, but this was frankly shameful. Not only was every remaining book out of order on this shelf, but over half of them were on the return cart. It was hard for Roman to imagine what kind of fiend would do this their local library, but with a sigh the purple grem2 began his duty of putting the books back in their proper homes. It took him a few minutes, but once he was satisfied he stepped back to admire his work. The entirety of the sect

Embrace - Whumptober Prompt 31

Rashida had, naturally, had crushes before Ian. He’d liked other boys, loved them even, but it had never worked out. It was just the nature of his life, he was sure of that much. He’s talked to Adam about it once, spilling all his guts out and crying into his shoulder. Adam had assured him his lot in life wasn’t to be someones gay questioning phase. He’d gotten Rashida a therapist since then, who seemed to think the same. Rashida was fairly certain neither of them had experienced the things he had, the rejection he had. Which is why his goal was to keep Ian close but distant. To enjoy the moments they had together, in

Dragged Away - Whumptober Prompt 6

The warehouses sat silent and looming like watch towers, each one individually numbered above great bay doors. Marty already disliked them. Something about them made his skin crawl and he disliked the way they seemed to watch him. He was the first over the fence, more falling than landing. Dione and Musef landed with ease beside him as he brushed the dirt off of his jeans. The lot was deadly silent in the night, only a few lone street lamps on and casting bright yellow light onto the tar below. Everything else was plunged in a darkness so black it made Marty’s skin crawl. He’d never liked the dark, even as an adult he had a night
