Since you have the comments off on the Batman slapping Robin because live-action Ariel is Black, I'll just post my comment here:

While I knew going in why she was cast as a Black character, The Little Mermaid IS public domain so I was overall fine with her being Black, and the Prince being half-whatever. The two main reasons why I personally hate the film is when gender-swapped "Scuttle" (who is my favorite from the animated verion) starts "chika wow wow" sexualizing the (pre or post?) kiss the girl scene. And the second is at the very end when the Prince's mom is all "go and spread your message". What message?! It comes out of nowhere. Forced woke racist BS! The cast is filled with Black people, but somehow the whole world is racist? Screw live-action Disney movies, they all suck!
