I went in a walk today. On my way back I realized I need to buy sunscreen. I went to the library. Although the famous fountain was still there, they had replaced the lower basin. I was disappointed that some of the old trees were gone. They probably were in the way for the construction to repair the library. I saw a horse drawn wagon going thru down town. The liquor store on the way was busy, it is Friday night after all.

That is my current Hugo winning novel. Im not very far yet but the author has introduced some new aliens that are completely different from what humans are like. I haven’t read enough to know them very well but so far it is disorienting as to how different they are. I finished Percy Jackson The lightning thief. It was really entertaining

I looked out my bedroom window today and saw a rabbit sitting between me and my car. She was sitting with his back to me, so he didn't see me. Unfortunately, by the time I went to the other room to get my camera it was hopping away and I only got one shot of its back, leaving. I've had robins in my carport every year for a long time. Last fall I took their nest and got rid of it. A couple days ago I saw what I thought was a partially completed nest. Today when I went out, it turns out it was a doves nest and I have a dove nesting there. It's a pretty smart place to put a nest, out of the weather and not in a place cats can get to. I don't k

I had an idea of making a sierpinski carpet "breathe." It turned out to be easier than I thought. I first wrote everything in Perl and then converted a couple of the routines into C++ programs for efficiency. One task in the algorithm is to take a polygon and dertermine its area to determine how bright it should be. (It's necessary to do anti-aliasing.) I found that the shortcut I used had artifacts where it dark lines in the white areas. In the animation, they actually look cool to me, so I didn't try to fix them. In photoshop they're easy to hide using the magic selection wand selecting a contiguous area. In an animation, I like how they
