It was a slow day. Perhaps the temperature of my house is dragging me down. I wasn't too uncomfortable, but I could have kept the temp down. It's more than a little bit of stubbornness that I don't want to be as high an energy user as most.
Also, a warm house makes the outside be less oppressive. But I didn't go on a walk on the other hand. I did weed the garden. I should have picked a few radishes.
I have a long enough shopping list that I should go to the store tomorrow.
After the great transition occurred (classic deviantart went away), the process of giving llamas was much more difficult. Anything a donor wanted to do with giving llamas: finding people who gave a llama, returning a gift or checking llama info, took several clicks.
Now things are much easier. You don't need to confirm the gift (which even the Paleozoic system had). To give someone a llama in reply is much easier, again a single click.
One behavior that was recently fixed was now there is a delay between mousing over a user name and a profile box coming up. Earlier, it would come up really quickly, not even a hover was enough to bring it up. That was inconvenient information because it blocked seeing the list of llama history for a person.
It's a lot nicer. I'm happy about that.
I had an appointment today and before I left started feeling feverish and like I was coming down with a cold.
Normally, cancelling an appointment at the last minute is not good, but getting a cold/fever is appreciated when you cancel the appointment.
More difficult is my job interview tomorrow, but since it's an assisted living facility, I hope they will appreciate the need to reschedule. I still am hesitating to call, but I will do it in a little bit.
I was reading about the extreme reduction of fatalities from influenza this year. I think that is good enough reason to keep wearing masks and be careful. If we could save 10s of thousands of lives every year, wearing masks seems a small sacrifice.
The article didn't say that they know for certain why the flu is less prevalent this year, but it seems that the steps to reduce covid spread is also reducing flu infections. But they said some other respiratory illnesses weren't affected as much, alhtough they're also not as deadly as covid-19, and to a lesser degree influenza.
My biggest complaint about masks it being difficult to show that you're smiling at someone. I guess it shows in the eyes but it would be nice to have a standard way of saying I'm smiling. What's the sign language version of "I'm smiling"?
