It's flipped from being late winter to early summer almost overnight. Last week having the heat was obligatory. Now, it's tempting to put on the A/C.
I went to get some blood tests today. I'm glad I made an appointment. There were 3 or 4 people waiting but I was the first to go. Next week I see the doctor who ordered the tests. I hope he says "continue doing X, Y and Z so it doesn't get worse but I don't need to take any interventions now."
I've been pretty active with my writing lately. I'm looking forward to exploring prose instead of poetry. I don't have much experience there.
My sister has a farm in New York. She's showed me pictures from their critter cam that is watching in her woods.
Today she sent me a picture of a bear that their camera shot.
Earlier she'd sent a picture of a fisher which is an animal I'd never heard of before that.
They've got a beautiful farm with a large pond and lots of wildlife in addition to the goats and llama. Ducks, chickens, cattle. Beavers who are not a welcome addition to the pond.
I'm writing a review of the film 12 Monkeys. It's about the world after a plague kills 6 billion people.
I looked out my bedroom window today and saw a rabbit sitting between me and my car. She was sitting with his back to me, so he didn't see me. Unfortunately, by the time I went to the other room to get my camera it was hopping away and I only got one shot of its back, leaving.
I've had robins in my carport every year for a long time. Last fall I took their nest and got rid of it. A couple days ago I saw what I thought was a partially completed nest. Today when I went out, it turns out it was a doves nest and I have a dove nesting there.
It's a pretty smart place to put a nest, out of the weather and not in a place cats can get to. I don't k
I had an idea of making a sierpinski carpet "breathe." It turned out to be easier than I thought.
I first wrote everything in Perl and then converted a couple of the routines into C++ programs for efficiency. One task in the algorithm is to take a polygon and dertermine its area to determine how bright it should be. (It's necessary to do anti-aliasing.) I found that the shortcut I used had artifacts where it dark lines in the white areas. In the animation, they actually look cool to me, so I didn't try to fix them.
In photoshop they're easy to hide using the magic selection wand selecting a contiguous area. In an animation, I like how they
I went out in the blizzard this morning to pick up my alms basket left at the edge of the moat a fortnight ago. As I walked toward the front of the castle, I saw a ferocious bunny running in front of me to warn it's kin of the opportunity to capture one of the trolls (me!?).
Fortunately, I was too fast for it and it fell off of the drawbridge and into the moat. The chariots rushing by didn't even notice the bizarre turn of events.
I know the battle isn't over and I must continue to be vigilant!
I was looking out my window and saw a few bubbles floating by.
I peered out to see where they were coming from. I was surprised to see my neighbors at the corner running a bubble machine. Lots and lots and lots of bubbles.
It was fun and light hearted and a nice reason to smile.
I'm curious if anyone has favorite Patreon creators that they would like to share? I might support another person if I like what they do!

I have my own patreon devoted to poetry. https://www.patreon.com/williamwaynesmith If you want to check it out, I'd be really grateful. I regularly post free poems as well as the ones you must be a supporter to see.
Do you have your own patreon? What do you release?
I had a good day. I went to get computer glasses and had dinner with my parents. Mom’s involved in an after school tutoring group that has to stop because they’ve closed the schools.
It’s going to be clear in about a week how bad it is going to get in the us. Without any testing no one knows the extent of the crisis.
I think I’ll be able to stay home for the week except for one trip to Fort Wayne.
I don’t think i know anyone who has got sick but the specialist i saw today didn’t want me to come in if I’d been around someone with fever & cough.
I hope you’re doing well where ever you are.
My sister begins teaching again soon. Right now though, she's preoccupied with a expected grandson who is a little tardy.
I had a good day and went to lunch with a friend.
Last night I was dreaming a lot about a big ping pong tournament that I was going to help organize at college. My machinations on how it would work weren't in proportion to the likely limited scope of the contest---I was planning for hundreds of players in a multi-layer contest.
It's been cold here today!
happiness... my (old) wacom tablet is compatible now with my (old) copy of Lightroom.
The mouse used to disappear when it was over Lightroom windows. Actually, today the tablet was having trouble in many apps so I installed the current drivers and i...
I found this wallpaper and I don't know who the two people on the right are. I recognize Loki and Snape. The third one reminds me of Game of Thrones but I'm not sure. Help?
Ok... found it... looked at the tags...

My cat Zorro is really sick. She hasn't been eating for several days and barely has the strength to sit up and drink a little water. She doesn't seem to be in any pain, but her breathing is pretty labored and she's lost a lot of weight. Maybe I'll st...
This was given to me by the cook of a (at the time) new Thai restaurant. I have been there quite a few times and enjoy it a lot. "Spice and Herb" on Coldwater and Wallen in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Go give them some business.
The dream police; they live inside of my head. Well I can't tell lies, cause they're listening to me. They're waiting for me. Every single night they're driving me insane. Those men inside my brain.
I try to sleep; they spy on me. I try to hide, the...
I got one more box out of the storage unit: the rest of my music collection. I have a little story about what happened while I was there: https://blog.sesquibits.com/2018/07/11/cat-astrophe-averted/
I also found a way to play my 1980 vintage amplifie...
I wonder how much longer my tree will last. It is losing branches fairly regularly. When Alberto was causing high winds a couple of days ago another large branch fell off. Perhaps I should ask the city?
