I wonder, how have things developed from TG2 to 3? Is it still 100% node-editor?

Yes and yes. There has been quite a few updates so impossible to list everything here. Everything should be node based! It makes things much easier and logical. I love nodes!

Maddening!

Out of curiosity, how are the render times? Vue has taught me to be scared of photorealistic things because of its CPU-hogging algorithms :p

Well it depends ofcourse. I think this took 4 hours @ 4k wide and semi decent settings

Hmm, now the question is what kind of rig you have :p
Even though my computer is fairly new, I guess stuff like this will still fry it...

i7 3930k and 32 gb memory. I usually render with 10 threads only

"10 threads only"

This is insane :p

With my i7 3840QM & 12 GB, I'd probably nuke everything with 8 threads already, haha :D

Terragen has certainly come a long way. Too bad I don't see many people using it much anymore (even I have a preference for Vue myself, but I do think Terragen beats it in the terrains and clouds department)

It has. I do notice that it is in use in a lot of professional environments but for example in DA there are very few users
