My name is Brandy Williams, and I’m regretting saying yes.
Saying no, or turning someone down is so much easier when you’re not in person. Especially if you suffer from the excessive need to people-please. It’s like, once a straight A student, always a straight A student. I don’t like dropping the ball, or letting anyone down, which is what has made this current task at hand so anxiety inducing.
It all started with my meeting with the lawyer Rachel set me up with, Diana Mercer of Diana Mercer & Associates. If Olivia Pope somehow had a long lost sister, it would be Diana Mercer. Her office alone was intimidating with its pristine, expertly curated decor. It was the type of space where only perfection belonged. Despite wearing the nicest dress out of the limited collection I’d ordered, I was basically a clearance rack standing next to a runway model.
