This is a jumping spider - specifically a male zebra spider (salticus scenicus).  He refused to stay still, so I found a moth and fed it to him - after that he was content to watch me and pose for a few seconds at a time.  These guys are tiny, so a lot of magnification was required.

Equipment was the Canon L 100-400 IS USM on the end of three stacked extension tubes.  Tripod, remote release, flash on a hotshoe extension cable hand-held right in front of the subject.
