Just wanted to give a quick update! (You know, while I can remember to and have the time to update! =p)
First off, I'm working on a demo level using the UDK (The Unreal Development Kit from Epic Games) to show off some lighting models, fluid surfaces and some DX11 tessellation. I taught a lecture series in the summer of 2010 at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs on content and level creation using the UDK and I'm interested to see how much realism we can get out of a game engine. I've already posted some (really early) examples of what can be done with the UDK. (If and whenever the CryEngine 3 SDK is released, I'll be moving over
Once again, I'm far too busy for my own good. However, I do have a few cool projects on the horizon and now I can start to upload actual submissions again!
My current focus is using game engines for generating detailed and (nearly) photo-realistic scenes. I'm focusing on Depth of Field techniques and some dynamically shadowed image-based reflections. (That last part is in the works!). I'm also in the process of forming a game studio and I'm working on a few new prototype projects. More to come!
Don't you just have those moments after looking at your gallery (after an extended absence) and want to delete the entire thing? Well, short of doing that I went through and pruned a few deviations away and I'll be going through and reworking some stuff.
And it's been ummm... a while since I updated! Let's see... I graduated with a Computer Science degree over a year ago and now I'm getting a Masters of Engineering in Computer Graphics. I have some really cool 3D projects I'm working on and I'll be posting updates here soon! I'm in the process of creating a 3D game using the UDK and Maya. More details to come!
To those who read this... how
