After defeating him, you find out that the children are actually the per evolve of the pokemon you just attack

They do want to give a message to the couple that they will make great parents. You chatch all of them if you want, and there no need to tade in they can evolve by giving them curse items. After you go back and tell, they will be happy to know they are ready and will give a curse item to evolve the pokemon. You just catch just level while the item is on it.
