I would like to give her a Scootahug.

That's certainly an interesting song choice.

And then they all die and the story moves over to another foal.

Button Mash, perhaps?

Come to think of it, how is the little gamer doing in a world like this?
PSIness7's avatar
He's probably dead already.

I don't know man, gamers tend to have high amounts of adrenaline which is used to make people temporarily super.

Keyword: temporarily. This place has probably been destroyed like this for a few years or so.

Well, I don't see how he would be affected directly, I mean, his mother seems like the type who would do anything for his survival anyway. Plus who would kill a foal who has a habit for video games. :\

Yeah...I don't think I could live with myself if I ever killed off Button, to be honest.

he's out there somewhere. ;)
PSIness7's avatar
Will he make an appearance and will he still act the same? (unlike the crusaders)

At this point in the story's development, I haven't included him yet. Doesn't mean he won't be in the story, but I don't have any plans for his character at this time.

What if he ran into a monster like the crusaders here.

(Well the author just confirmed that he's alive SOMEWHERE, but for the sake of argument let's keep going.)

I believe Button to have more common sense when it comes to monsters than the average filly. Games do provide some common sense knowledge, even when they're down right stupid, ESPECIALLY when they're down right stupid. YOU COULD HAVE RUN THERE OR THERE! YOU COULD HAVE DONE THIS OR THIS!

If Button was a true gamer like his character was, in a world where having a job is just as lethal as not having one, I believe his character would know just what to eat and where to live, from playing so many apocalypse games. I also believe that he would have some decent knowledge on monsters thanks to some games based off of them, like how the cockatrice can turn you to stone.

The average adult ponies here in the My Little Pony world have always been naive and uninformed, and easily frightened. I blame it on the lack of video games. So I personally believe Button would know more of what to do than most other ponies in this kind of world.

I cannot come up with a counter argument with that, congratulations you've won .Clap  (insert silly video game victory theme here)

Considering all the video games he plays he would probably know how to deal with monsters like these. Plus most gamers tend to have heightened cognitive abilities, studies have shown that video games can improve reflexes, critical thinking skills, improve how much you can keep track of, slow down decay from disuse of certain parts of your brain (In other words, your brain will be healthier.) and improve your memory. Among other things you can potentially learn from video games. Also, people who spend a lot of time looking at screens and/or reading things tend to blink less often because their eyes have been trained to focus on stuff for longer periods of time without interruption.

The more you know! (Of course, to actually make use of any of this you also have to go outside so there is some balance involved for how time is used.) Sorry for the paragraph there but I just felt like I should explain why I feel Button Mash would most likely be fine... or at least surviving in this new Equestria.

Problem. Gamers also have very little of the real life skills that they have in video games. However them reflexes would be handy.
