This is a gift for :iconcapella336: and it was a toss up between Isolde or Hestor (both of which would have been accompanied by certain canines) but Isolde won! I thought I was clever adapting something of a 'Red Riding hood' feel with this one :D.  And because this is one of those 'representation rather than actual-events' type of pictures, I left her in a dress and not Haddock's coat when out hunting other wolves of a more feral persuasion.
Wolf Haddock looks a bit concerned about something...the loss of his impressive eyebrows most likely, the family heirlooms, they've been stolen, sound the alarm!

Anyway! I hope you like it :D and have a great day!

You’re welcome! It’s been, like, forever and a day since I’ve drawn an animal (completed a drawing of an animal). It was also of a wolf, then I knew I would make myself absolutely crazy trying to draw all that fur. I told my mom, “Looks like your picture of Jon Snow won’t have Ghost in it.”
Still need to draw another picture...
Poor mom.

Wolves are a bit tricky to draw (for me at least) we all know what they look like, but trying to make them look fierce enough not to be mistaken for a pointy dog is part of the trouble, or trying not to stylise them too much (which I had to stop myself from doing), but you don't have to draw all the fur, just give the impression there's texture there. Ghost was (like in much of the show) somewhere else!

Pointy dog. Lol. I’ve made that mistake before.

Ghost is such a slacker. I love him, I want him, but I think my 8 pound maltipoo protects me better than Ghost protects Jon.

Or else they look like very large foxes.

I know, I mean where was he in the entirety of the last season? You'd think that having a huge wolf as a companion could be used advantageously in war. Or at least used as an intimidation tactic when needed. (maltipoo is really a very small dire wolf and you didn't know)

I call him my little wolf. I’ve posted 2 ( I think) pictures of Max on here, you can see the dire wolf in him. The cuteness is just a cover. :)

Wonderful use of red! And I also like how the grey tones mediate between the two intense colours.

Eeee!!!Am loving this series of inktober pieces sooo much!! You have no idea!!! I love how you transformed her iconic red dress into your own style- and don't tell me you didn't enjoy drawing all the little frills, flounces and lace! If she's going round challenging cads and bounders to duels, she wants to dress the part! After all, what is she? An animal?!
No offence...Haddock...didn't see you there...ahem!
But seriously, your drawing of a wolf is brilliant, there's a silent menance there in Haddock's eyes, and I can almost 'hear' the rumbling start of a growl at the back of his throat.
Actually, now looking at it, this reminds me of a gothic romantic version of 'Red Riding Hood' which makes me love it all the more!
The trees in the background make a wonderful frame and contrast to the brilliant crimsons and whites in the foreground and that moon is very eerie and I love the speckled effect you've started using-it's wonderful! :D

Thanks! They're pretty fun to do, I mean they do give me a chance to practice more closely on faces...and stuff. The red was something I was uncertain of, I actually coloured it digitally just incase it wasn't the effect I envisioned.
I know right? Hang the feasibility of it all! Fashion was never sensible!
Hahah I had to go find a wolf reference as without it my wolves are stylised and that wouldn't work with this kind of image.
Indeed thanks, that's why I put her in the red :D.  Those trees were pretty fun, they're the kind of thing you expect to turn out really trashy, but then they look surprisingly good and - surprise - you are surprised!

Ah this looks so beautiful! I love the sort of gothic novel feel of this. And the red accents work so well. The bloody red of her dress is really stunning. And yeah it does have a bit of that 'Red Ridinghood' feel, but in a different, original way. Can I ask, is it red ink or rem marker? It's so smooth!! The wolf looks so alert and cautious and I love how it's all taking place under the full moon.

Thank you! Oh no, the red is actually digital cheatery. As I scanned in the black and white because I was unsure if the red would work, or ruin it, so instead of ruining the whole thing, I waited until after scanning to just colour it in, hence the smoothness of the red

THIS IS SO GREAT!!!  I love that you went with Haddock and Isolde, as I've been devoting more of my time to my Maelstrom characters than them and they need some love! *Bad OC Mom T__T*  Isolde's dress is so gorgeous and silky and I like that you went the more representational route--pretty dresses aren't the best attire for werewolf hunting but dang, they look nice! xD  And her hair looks great!  I only wish mine would look like that when I let it go curly!  The ever-protective Haddock in the background made me smile--they're searching for his lost eyebrows that Drexel smacked off his face when he initiated the duel. lol  The misty background with the silhouetted trees surrounding them makes this even more dramatic (I see you've formed a truce with stippling too ;P)!  Thank you so much for this, and I'm glad to have gotten to know you over the past few months! :D

Hurrah! It had to be done at some point and that's the truth of the matter :D (lol we all go through phases of forgetting about characters *is guilty of it to a horrendous degree* - yeah I doubt running around at night in chillier weather, in a RED dress while hunting a fearsome werewolf intent on your personal harm, would be a good idea, unless she was acting as obvious bait lol *pretends to sprain an ankle as well, just to be more tempting*
Her hair has probably been styled by pixies to look that amazing, and uncrushed (yeah I have curly hair too and it never looks like that...)
:lmao: those eyebrows went flying over the hills and far away, but they persevere to find them before someone else picks them up to wear - HURRY!
I have! I think it's probably because we keep besmirching the stippling spirits and they're either waiting to spring in punishment, or I only ever use it on tiny areas at a time so have yet to suffer their full wrath, but it's a great way to go from dark to light in a uniform manner, I'm not brave enough to try progressively thinner lines to fade into white yet, dots are easier

She'll proceed to choke him with that string of pearls in her hair Slave Leia style once the Big Bad Wolf comes sniffing around! xD  I was considering Isolde acting as the bait in the story when I was still tossing around the idea of her and Haddock having to take out Drexel together, but Drexy wouldn't pass up killing his most hated rival so the idea was dropped (plus: Isolde shooting Drexel in the face? YES).

They're too much power to wield for a normal human!  Heaven forbid a child finds them before they do! :ohnoes:

I might have to try stippling again since crosshatching does NOT like to work together with me for big areas ^^;

That'd be a sight to see, and probably prove to be a while different story! I wonder how Haddock would feel about that brutal display. The trouble with the bait scenario would be that it may have altered how Isolde was viewed - as in, this way at least she showed she was willing to take the responsibility of  pulling the trigger herself, rather than simply being the one putting her faith in someone else to ensure her safety.

The Chosen One has come!

*shudders at crosshatching on large areas* - having had experience with that...I can gree, last time I tried it, I ended up simply blocking over it with black to hide the offensive thing.

He'd probably be frozen in shock! lol  That's what I was thinking of too when I got around to writing her involvement in the plan.  I didn't like how having her act as bait made her seem like she was a mere pawn in the scheme instead of a key player.

It must be a skill that has to be perfected over long periods of time (at least that's what I've evinced from the comics I read) *doesn't have time to work on that*
