Imma just leave this MLK quote here and you take it how you want
Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.
a lot of people like to talk about how MLK wouldn't have wanted this. he didn't want to be murdered either. there are more black activists than MLK too like Malcolm X who would be absolutely proud that black americans are standing up against opression
Well, speaking Of Malcom X, this is on his official Wikipedia page, in context of his membership in the Nation of Islam.
“Malcolm X then served as the public face of the organization for a dozen years, where he advocated for black supremacy, black empowerment, and the separation of black and white Americans, and publicly criticized the mainstream civil rights movement for its emphasis on nonviolence and racial integration.”””..nnooiiiion”“. . .
Hate and racism of any kind isn’t going to get you anywhere, and until you snap out of your fantasy that this is some kind of battle or war, we will never achieve true racial equality anywhere.
Nonetheless, he still was an incredible advocate for the black community. The way you're talking is like you WANT black people to suffer in silence. I'm not saying that's what you said, don't get it twisted though. That's just your tone.
Protesting WORKS. The first pride was a riot, and now same-sex marriages and transitioning is legal. Through all the protests, many police officers have been arrested, and without the protests, murderous police would still reign free.
If you don't condone rioting, don't condone police killing people.
If I support King, the single most influential name in identity politics so openly, how could you even suggest I want anyone to suffer, let alone in silence? King was loud, open, demanding and strong, but didn’t hurt a soul. Two wrongs don’t make any right, and it’s the people’s job to be the bigger adults and stop this stalemate once and for all. Riots are only further hurting the country and the people in them, which should be obvious if you even bothered to look up the aftermath of the violent outburst, which people are living in as a direct result
smh im not gonna argue with u over deviantart.. this is straight up petty..
but im just saying this ain't adding up chief..
riots are making changes, have u seen what happen ed in minneapolis? they disbanded the police. that would've never happened without protests!! btw the violence is mostly of white ppl and police if you look at first hand accounts!
