Kirié (Pronounce as "Key-ree-yeah") is the traditional Japanese paper cutting art of depicting scenery, plants and animals by cutting paper precisely and skillfully with a knife. :reading:
A workshop by a Japanese Kirié artist Mr. Shu Kubo http://tinyurl.com/6rp6sh9 . He gave a brief origin of the art and how he get along with it. He also show some actual paper patterns (they call it washi paper) that came all the way from Edo period, and I was astonished to see such artifacts! :la:
OK! So the workshop begun and I tried... And here it is...
*du du dummm tsssss!* :
"The language I've been hearing since I was young. And about 90% of my artworks have Japanese themes. How come that I don't fully understand this wonderful language and culture? It was with me all along."
That fact kindled my heart! Now, the opportunity has come! I decided to take this language course called "MARUGOTO" (means Whole; entirely; summary). Yeah! Now I'm on my 2nd week, and I'm loving it! At the end of this course. I expect myself to have deeper understanding of the Japanese culture. And better deviations of course! :)
I'll stay low on submitting deviations (computer generated)
Alodia's Birthday Bash - March 31, 2012
It is my first time to attend an otaku event (well I've it is not my first. Before, I don't have the time to have fun, and shoot pictures because of my work). I'm so glad to meet people who has the same passion as mine! :la:
Out of 313 shots, I choose three to be a deviation. In this event, I have learned that steady hands, good eye for angle, background and light source is the most significant factors in photography. And also, I should know the cosplayer's names! So I can give them proper credits :(
These are my Top 3 shots:

I'm tired of seeing hate posts in social networking sites. Why do these people share other people's mistake? They throw hurtful words and curses them for what they have done!
Hey! Sometime in our lives, we also do stupid things, the only difference is that it is not posted online! So nobody has the right to bully someone! I feel sorry for them. I'm just tired seeing those post... really. Maybe I just end this journal with these quotes.
"You know my name, not my story. You've heard what I've done, not what I've been though. So stop judging me..."
"He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."
This is one of the most happiest moment in my DA life. Free Premium Membership day! :) This is the first time I tried it! It really made my day! I enabled sitback and open some of my deviations for critique. And most of all, using this cute Totoro skin journal!
