As I said before, love your style!

I personally prefer sketches over finished drawings most of the time...

I know what you mean sometimes a picture looses it's intensity when it's fully finished

It's the rough and free lines that give the drawing character...
a sketch is as personal as it gets!

i like the contrast between light and shade this is a very effective style

I found one of the best ways to get this effect is to imagine there's another light source opposite the main one being the white light in this pic,

yeah, that sounds great in theory, but i suck when it comes to lighting :)
so one light source is hard enough for me

HA! don't worry about being any good with it, practice with it, go nuts don't try to constrain yourself with making a finished picture, try some hard brushes and work onto a dark background, also when figuring out lighting a little research goes a long way, nothing serious just take note of the way light forms on and bounces of thing when you look at them, it's every where you can't miss it..............unless it's a pitch black room, then you're buggered!

yes thankfully that is not the case, but i kinda wish it were it would give me the excuse as to why i cant do it

i would consider myself to be an observant person and i actually do look at the way the light reflects off things but for some reason when i have to put it in to practice i fail, but thanks for your suggestions maybe something will click :)

I can tell already that you're a far more advanced artist then I from the level of detail you can portray even in a messy conceptual sketch such as this. I have GOT to get to work. :D

Really neat character too, by the way.
