1. A rose
2. A pearl
3.a necklace (or a crescent moon)
4. a spider
5.a dragon (not just a wing)
6. a skull
7.the definition of love
8. two nails

Did you catch the last two? The definition of love was sacrifice and the two nails were crossed on top of one another to make a cross. I'll get into the significance of these things later.
Have you heard the news recently? or at least heard rumors? Great me neither~! I do know that there have been a lot of court situations going on in the world though... Let's do a little what-if. What if you were on trial for murder--but plot twist! The only defense you have is you! What are you going to say? "Sorry?" A just judge is NOT going to let a murderer get away with crime (thank goodness for that!). You probably don't want to go to jail, but you have nothing left to say. Suddenly a person walks up to the judge and says "I'll pay the fine. I'll go to jail instead."
Such is reality... If you've ever told a single fib or lie, or if you've ever hated someone, or if you've wanted something that wasn't yours, then guess what? You've sinned! There is a judge with a law to uphold. He is God. Anyone and everyone who has sinned will have to face Him because we transgressed His law. Even if we try to say "Sorry!" Or "Well, You're a nice person aren't You?" we still don't have any means to pay the "fine."
The only way to be free from the court is to be perfect, but the problem is that none of us are. However, this isn't a story of how yucky and hopeless we are, this is a story of redemption. Like I said earlier, the only defense we have is ourselves, and I'm pretty sure that if a criminal tried to plead his own case, not many people would buy it. Then, how do we get a defense? We'd need someone who hasn't committed the crime to plead the case.
You've probably heard the name Jesus (either as a swear word or on TV I don't care), but He is the only person who hasn't committed the crime that we've all done. He was the only sinless human. There used to be a system of sacrificing to be free of sin, in which something entirely pure would die to cover the unpure hearts of men, but the system worked only temporarily. This Jesus, pure and perfect, died so that He could be the final sacrifice--the permanent version of the system. He didn't have to, but out of love for us and respect for the Judge, He did. Love is sacrifice. Humans pinned Him on a cross with three nails. He went through torture, but still went through it for us anyways.
So, what does this Jesus have to do with us being in court? When we stand at spiritual trial in front of the Holy Judge, who will plead our case? There isn't anyone pure to say it for us, but Jesus. We all have the privilege to ask Him if He would be willing to defend us, and He will, but sometimes people think that they can get away with court on their own. Where do they end up? Eternal, spiritual jail.
Now I'll ask the question--are you willing to ask Him to plead your case?
