TSOOC Crystal the Loveless

Here we are, finally at the new year... and IDK what to do with it lol
But anyway I got my first official drawing for 2023 done today AND its also related to my last drawing www.deviantart.com/skylertoons… 
This is another boss in my souls like game and this is another guardian but was curropted when The Creator left the world behind- but we'll get to that part at the lore area.

However before I start talking about the lore, the character, the boss, and drawing, I just wanted to let u all know a few things
1. I mad some more progress in Demon Souls ps5 I managed to beat another boss in the game. The boss I beat was The Tower Knight (it took me like 7 retries in order to beat it) and I feel pretty good about myself
2. I also have been playing some of the other games that I got and so far I think I like Dead Cells abit more

3. unfortunately I can not login into my Newgrounds account which means I cant post anything there nor can I leave comments to other peoples stuff there. Reason for this is because my laptop aka my main computer is not working currently because of a stupid cat was on the keyboard and now my laptop wont turn on no matter how many times I press on the power key. and I don't remember my password on my Newgrounds account, but my friend from work is gonna try to help me fix it, or I might have to change my Newgrounds password, which will be pretty fucking annoying, so sorry about that  

Thats pretty much all I have to say about that now
So now lets get on with the good stuff.





(Lore)
If you've seen my last drawing, then you already know about the lore of the guardians in my souls-like project so Im not gonna repeat it and I'm just gonna skip to Crystals lore.

Crystal Heart is- or at least was once the Guardian of Love. She was beloved by all of her subjects, and beloved husband who was also a guardian. She and her husband also had 2 childern (Cenders and Galaxy)
However when The Creator abandoned the world, and the people below the guardians rised up against them, it was the worst day of her life. 
Not only was she taken away from her beloved and her children, but she was also held down and had her crystallized wings brutally shattered into a million shards leaving her permanently flightless. And as insult to injury, the people physically clawed out her crystal heart as it was what made Crystal special, thinking that without the heart, she would be forgotten. But instead of being forgotten, it left her broken and devoid of emotions.
Crystal thought that maybe she could find her family and feel some slight happiness... but she could never find them, and in the end, she retired to an old mine that no one really go near anymore. and so she remains there, forever... alone.





(Where and when can you find Crystal)
Location: The Mine of cut gems (still working on the name)
You can find the mines later when you have got like 50% into the map (this boss fight can happen way later after you did the Cenders boss fight) however in order to find the mines, you will have the figure it out since theres now real way to figure out where the mine is, even with the map you get. (Crystal IS a main story boss, however trying to find her location is pretty hard to find and nothing even the resting area gives you a signal of where the mine is)

Anyway once you FINALLY find the mines, at first your gonna need a torch, because the mine is hella dark along with some trap and some creatures that can beat your ass. You may not be able to see them in the dark but they CAN see you in the dark. so yeah make sure to have a touch with you when you enter the mine lol
Anyway, eventually as you explore more into the mine, you will soon find some light, leading to a large empty looking arena.





(The Boss Cutscene)
The player walks into the large arena until the spot something that stops them in their tracks. The camera then turns towards what the player was seeing, and what they saw was a woman. 
The woman had long-ish messy hair, rag clothing, her arms covered in crystals, a big gaping chest wound in the shape of an heart, and she was just sitting at a small table as she just examines small shards of crystals and dispose of the ones that she did not like (which was all of them)


Crystal the Loveless: *just examing crystals, until she notice the player. She has no expression on her face whatsoever* oh... I would of thought all the traps and beasts would kill anyone come in. But I suppose not. 
Well then... if your here for a crystal... *slowly picks a random crystal up and then tosses far across the arena that lands near the players feet* take it. and get out of my sight. 
The Player: *looks at the crystal but dose not take it, dose not leave*

Crystal the Loveless: *still expressionless* Still wont leave me? Well then, *slowly stands from her table as she grabs her blade* Let death be your gift.





(Boss fight phase 1 and 2)
Since the player refuse to leave the mine, Crystal will try to kill you.
During the first phase of the boss fight, Crystal will only have 2 attacks which are simply fast slashes with her blade and if your like 20 feet away from her she will zoom into you and try to grab you and if she dose grab you, she will try to impale you.

However even tho she only has 2 attacks types, the real challage of this boss is try to survive in the arena because the whole arena is full of traps as well.
So pretty much your trying to kill Crystal while also trying to avoid her attacks and all her traps (all of the traps in the arena are randomized every time you attempt this boss fight) However you can use these traps to your advantage to damage Crystal.
There are 3 types of traps

Trap 1: tripwire trap that will fling multiple crystals at you. So you will need to quickly dodge roll out of the way
Trap 2: crystal like bear traps. If you step on them, you will be crystallized for 10 seconds (aka your unable to move)
Trap 3: these traps are incredibly hidden that only the player can trigger. This trap basically brings a random enemy into the battle arena. However this random enemy will either attack you or "Crystal the Loveless" so this can be good or not good


When you take down 50% of Crystal's health, phase 2 will start
In phases 2, Crystal will turn her one blade into dual blades and she gets a few new-ish tricks.

Attack 1: The same slash attack but now doubled
Attack 2: The same zoom attack but instead of trying to grab you, she will try to zooming her dual blades into you, lift you up, and slice you in half (this is NOT a 1 hit kill attack, you are still alive)
Attack 3: if your 20 feet away from her, she will either do the zoom attack or she will jump into the air and try to dash into you with her blades
Attack 3 Alt: When Crystal is in the air, she can actually delay her attack and its a 50/50 chances that she will do her slash attack or she will actally kick you into a trap that you have not triggered


if you are carful of where you are and avoid all of Crystal's attack perfectly, you will be able to take her down... yeah right lol


(another cutscene)
Crystal falls to her kneels and face down, looking like she's now dead. However after a moment before the player could examine Crystal's body, a random purple like crystal flies into Crystal's back.
Then all of a sudden multiple purple crystal shards begin to come out of nowhere and flies onto "Crystal's" back until they take the form of... wings? 
Crystal then begins to slowly get back up and lifts up into the hair above the player, and now she's really pissed off.





(Boss Fight Phase 3)
Now having her crystalized wings, she will have alot more attacks and her whole health bar is refilled. (also all the traps in the arena have been removed)
As the phase starts "Crystal" will be up in the air and will trigger one of her new attacks.

Attacks 1: as she's in the air, she then will slam into the ground and cause multiple crystal to shoot out from the ground around her
Attacks 2: if your 20 feet away, she will shoot crystal shards at you from her wings or she will charge at you and use her crystal wings to slash at you
Attack 3: She can do multiple slashes with either her dual blades which are fast or with her crystal wings which will be slow attacks
Attack 4: if you try to attack Crystal from behind, she crystallized wings will block your attack and will act like a porcupine (aka if you try to attack Crystal from behind, her wings will pretty much tell ya to fuck right off lol)


Once again just time Crystal's attacks perfectly and be smart, and she will go down and WILL die this time





(Rewards)
When you beat the Crystal boss fight, you will get 35000 INK that can used to level up, a story related item, and an item called "Wing Shard" which can be used to craft one of 3 special items 
The Wing Shard can be used to craft one of 2 weapons (you can only choose 1. and if you want to get both weapons, then you'll have to play New Game Plus) 





(The Art)
The trickiest part in this drawing was doing the crystallized wings
However the rest of the drawing was actually pretty easy to do... well making the chest wound where her Crystal Heart once was, that was abit tricky to make it look good. (so like adding in some cuts around the wound to show that her heart WAS clawed out of her chest, along with some ink stained her gown.
The Easiest part was drawing in the character at the bottom of the drawing. that character is supposed to represent the player.


I think this drawing turned out pretty good and I hope u all like it.
I was gonna do Galaxy, but I decided to not do her and just do Crystal. However I will make Galaxy's boss fight but I want her fight to be kinda build up, ya know? 
So the next boss fight that I make will be on Crystals beloved Husband "Comet of Blind Wisdom"
