Aquamarine

By SkyGazerr
March, March, the month of fresh winds and clear breath. The time of changing light and crisp air. Health, Courage, and longevity. Aquamarine is this month's birth stone.
--

Aquamarine is the third of the birthstone series.
Aquamarine is a quite beautiful stone and naturally grows in those tower-like structures. This dragon's design is built around the idea of this stone. The underwater design is to exaggerate the "marine" in aquamarine, even though the stone is not usually found underwater. As the month is know for courage, the creature is well protected by a shell and has little fear of dangers. However, the month is also known for health so the creature is not a predator and instead a slow turtle-like being. Hope you like it, and please keep with me for more!

Hiya!  I just wanted to let you know that I've featured your work in a post called March Birthstone Dragons - Aquamarine - by Various Artists on my dragon artwork blog (with proper attribution and links back, of course).  I love this dragon!  You can find me at Writing Dragons, and this feature here.  Keep up the great work!

Yay! I got it sort of right then. Any suggestions for future designs?

hmmm I do: you know obsidian? the black one? I would find it really cool to have it in december because there is some kind of obsidian that has white spots on it so it looks like snow falling at night... and I would find it super cool if you would do a dragon whose scales are made of krystals or something... the ones you've been uploading always had them like emerging out of their bodies (a bit seperated) so it would be cool if it looked like they were made of stone if you know what I mean...

Really neat creature! This is a really cool series you have going on. =D

But if I may offer one general piece of advice regarding marine animals with flippers, the front arms would hang a little lower and closer to the chest, sort of like this sea turtle www.gulfmex.org/wp-content/upl… or a dolphin dinolingo.files.wordpress.com/…

Thank you, that helps a lot. I'm not great at marine life and need help! I'll make sure to consider that in the future
