When the mood strikes by skyeconnelly When the mood strikes by skyeconnelly
So this is my second attempt at capturing lightening.. and oh my gosh I have found my new obsession!! I either got really lucky or this is what I'm meant to be doing with my life. I've always wanted to chase tornados and study severe weather, but maybe I could just photograph it instead. :)

Shot from my balcony here in Denver, CO

This is a terrific shot! It's great that the lightening is striking, otherwise I don't think it would have the same effect.
The contrast in this is just amazing. The sky at the bottom right looks so bright and clear, but the actual storm looks rather menacing.

Oh yea definitely, the photo is really quite boring except for the
lightening! I felt so lucky, it's so hard to photograph! But sooo
worth it when you get the shot! :)

My thoughts exactly. Never realized how addictive the weather could be. Looks like you are capturing the storm the just blew over my a day ago. Hopefully it was as kind to you as it was to me.

Very kind to me!!! Tons of rain and storms and flash floods and
thunder and lightening.. so much excitement!! Love it. Do you live
in Colorado also?

So very glad to hear. It was a brilliant storm. Supposedly, we are to have another of the same caliber rolling through early this coming week, but we all know how Colorado is. She does what she wants, and prefers to be rather unpredictable. Indeed I do, grew up in Aurora, but now live in Grand Junction on the western slope! It's good to see another from Colorado that isn't shy the show the beauty we share!

Well I do hope that is the case! Anything to escape this dreadful heat! And absolutely, that is what I love about Colorado.. and so nice to meet another native! I live in central Denver. We really are lucky to live here. :)

I know what you mean. The heats been killer out this way. Working outside in 103 degrees just isn't cutting it any more. Lol. We are so very lucky. Our locations is prime for photography in every season. Especially fall! It's so very nice to meet you as well. Didn't think it would be so easy to find another native. Especially one that feels as grateful for our state and place as I do. Grand Junction and the surrounding area is quite beautiful. Between the Grand Mesa and The Grand National Monument, the opportunity and possibilities are pretty endless for a lens junkie. So very good to meet you!
