Sneaky Sneks by skipwr3ck Sneaky Sneks by skipwr3ck
Eyy, remember this scenario? Well I decided it needed a do-over.
And so, Scarlet and Vin with a side of humiliation.
... Again.

I like the slight blurring in the background, makes the characters really pop out.

I love this image.
The characters are superbly drawn and the animated style gives this an 'animation cell' quality that really does it justice.
The soft background keeps Scarlet and Vin as the main focus and brings out the details, especially on the clothing.
Superb :)

Thank you very much! I was a lot more relaxed with this drawing than some older ones, and I think it really offered the composition a nice fluid look rather than so stiff. I like how it turned out a lot ^-^

It turned out so well.
Your pictures are really well done but this one just has something special.
Funny thing is, when I looked at this I could see one of my OCs in Scarlet as the hologram AI of the Starfire in my novel is called Scarlett and wears period costume similar to yours, although it's a little more Civil War style most of the time.

That's awesome! Power to the Scarlets! I love southern civil war attire so much. All the ruffles and ringlets.
I agree, something magic happened with this one that I can't seem to replicate. But I also know I've drawn them hundreds of times so they always look 10x better than my other characters lol

Indeed :)
However your Scarlet is real, William's is just an AI hologram with a funny story as to why she is the way she is.
My sister has an obsession with that period of costume as well, if her wardrobe is anything to go by, lol.

There's also something else about this picture that sets it apart is that it's more 'alive', for want of a better word.
I'm not familiar with the backstory for the images but just looking at this I see two rogues, their plan has gone wrong, Scarlet looks like she thinks it's all Vin's fault and the look on her face, and her pose, is something akin to a mother dragging a recalcitrant child away.
There's a lot of underlying humour in there :)

That's even better! Scifi and history need to collide more often. Let's all take a moment to appreciate Treasure Planet shall we
I have a friend like that too lol wore a full on hoop skirt and real pearls to prom. I absolutely love that lol

You're pretty close, actually! I've cut this scene from the draft I'm currently working on, but I need to find a way to fit it in somewhere else. They've snuck into a party searching for something. Scarlet's the real rogue with zero social skills and a direct plan, Vin is more along for the ride. He KNOWS how to behave in front of people of this sort and has conflicting morals, so they clash and things become a disaster.

Nothing wrong with mashing up the historical periods and it makes for an interesting mix.... and some great costumes ;)

Sarah's biggest hoop skirt was 22 feet in circumference for a civil war ballgown. BIG freaking dress! She sold it the other year to a theater company so she could buy more costumes. If she gets any more she'd need a bigger house! Can't really say anything with my sci-fi collection being just a tad larger than her costume rooms (yes, rooms!) - lol.

I think I'm definitely on 'Team Scarlet' for that adventure then. Look forward to seeing the final draft. Sounds like a lot of fun :)

That sounds perfectly amazing. I've never worn a hoop skirt myself, but I already know my friend would criticize me for the way I walk in one. Apparently there's a special way you have to do it so the dress bounces correctly? I don't even know. As much as I admire the style from afar, I'm more of a leather armor and war paint kind of gal

By draft I meant their written story! Lol part one is completed and posted in my gallery! It's called Swindle. Now on to the second half... oi. Maybe I'll sneak it into here somehow.
