He should apologize to Miles. That's quite a horrendous blue.

well, while it's not a color i would want to paint my living room with, i don't know that i would call it horrendous. but maybe i need to recalibrate my monitor.

Wichita, Kansas. It was a feature shot for my newpaper, which they never used. Here's the origional caption:

Jonathan Drewry with Rodney Beard Painting, Inc., surveys the first coat of a brick wall at Seneca and McCormick that will house NAPA Auto Parts. "I'll look like smurf by the end of the day," he said.

too bad they didn't use the photo. then again, maybe they wanted to save on blue ink ;)

yeah, sometimes i'll be looking for some long-lost shot and stumble across something i had forgotten about. i just entered it in JPG magazine's "Color Theory" catagory, [link] and thought i'd pop it up here, too.

are you familiar with the website? it's pretty cool:[link]

much of the stuff i have submitted to JPG is also here on dA, but there're a few others.

you been shooting much?

I have always liked that image. It's a great stock image. Can you imagine how many companies could put their logo on that wall? I bookmarked JPG a while back, but haven't had much time to check it out. Between working 2nd shift at Spirit, working on bikes on the side and trying to get the house fixed up, I don't have much free time to shoot anything. I haven't gone digital yet. Had a couple of financial set backs recently so it is on the back burner for now. I have been getting the itch to shoot though. I have three rolls of the neighbor kids that I need to drop off at the developers. I'll take a look at your JPG submissions soon.

See Ya

your english is probably better than mine. what city do you live in? my wife & i travel to mexico a lot. mostly puerto vallarta, because my brother lives there and we can stay for free and know the cheap places to eat, but we have also been to guadalajara, cocula, tonala, talaquepaque, aiijic (didn't care for that one), guanajuato, san miguel de alliende.

we hope to go to oaxaca durng holy week in march. never been there, although i see you have.

I live in Guadalajara, and I've been in all the another places :) I'm a seriously addict traveler. Oaxaca is a great place, I've went there this summer, and Puebla is another place you should go (is about 5 hours from Oaxaca). Also try to visit Zacatecas...

Why did you use the "sanchez" part in your username? that is why I thought you speak spanish...

skippy sanchez is my nom de plume (pen name) to distinguish my art and freelance photography from my newpaper work.

guadalajara is a beautiful city. i would also like to see puebla and zacatecas, perhaps during the october mole festivals in october, but i don't think that will be this year.

do you have recomendations of inexpensive places where my wife & i can stay in oaxaca for a few weeks?

I have a friend in Oaxaca, I think he could search something for you, he is a really kind guy.

I'm glad you'd liked my city... if you come back, let me know and we can go somewhere to take pictures. Maybe I can get some accomodation for you and your wife.

and now... I can understand why the "sanchez" part :D
