A rotoscope assignment for my Drawing in Motion Class at the Savannah College of Art and design. We were to take a piece of footage and rotoscope on top of it. A good friend pointed out that the ending's kinda weak, so I'll probably ("probably?"yeeaaahhhhh) go back and add a little more to the tail end. Whatcha think?

I'd love to see the original roto side by side with your keyed version.

Nice! I like the camera work too. I actually couldn't tell that this was rotoscoped until you mentioned it; it's nicely animated. And I think the ending is fine.

Thanks man! Yeah, I didn't like how the initial test I did came out, where I basically traced over each frame. So I took certain poses, used them as keyframes and then did my own inbetweens. But yeah, I think the best "referenced animation" doesn't look like it directly references anything at all.

I love the movement in this one :). Nice choice in music too. How exactly does rotoscoping work? I wish I had an assignment like that in my class. Also is your school all 2D animation? Or do you tackle other stuff?
