Welcome to Skies-and-Seasons! This group is for all you Animals, Plants and Nature photographers who love the sky and the beauty of the different seasons <3 Our current contest is 'Stormy Skies', click here for info! (: Rules: ~ We are a group for Photography > Animals, Plants and Nature or Photography > Macro > Nature deviations only. Photos submitted under any other category will be automatically declined. ~ One submission per folder per day. ~ Your photographs do not have to be the absolute best you've ever taken, but they must be relatively sharp, have reasonable composition, and not be over-edited. ~ The photo MUST be taken by you. We will not tolerate art theft. ~ Your work will only be declined if it is not an Animals, Plants and Nature photograph, or if it doesn't actually focus on the sky or one of the seasons. Hello all,
It seems that a few of the folders were getting full, so some nice new empty ones have been created and are waiting to be filled with your lovely photos
Please from now on submit to the 'II' versions of the folders, and here is a reminder of the guidelines:
The Sky folders:
Skyscapes II
Skyscapes is for skies of any kind - clear blue, sunny, cloudy, stormy, lightning-filled etc., but please do not submit sunrise or sunset photos here.
Sunrises and Sunsets II
This is where photos of daybreak and twilight should be submitted! XD
The Moon, Stars, and Aurora II
Night sky shots here only please. Northern lights should also go here.
The Seasons folders:
Spring II
For photos of buds, blossoms, new leaves, flowers, young animals, anything natural that's typically associated with new life.
Summer II
For sun-soaked landscapes, beaches, flowers and plants in full bloom, fruits, insects, anything to do with the hottest months of the year.
Autumn II
For changing and falling leaves, golden forests, pumpkins, autumn berries, all the signs that show winter is on the way.
Winter II
For snow, ice, frost, bare trees, winterscapes, anything associated with the colder months.
If your photo could be placed into more than one folder - for example, if it is of a snowy winterscape that also features a sunset - the rule of thirds is the one to obey. If the majority (around two-thirds) of the photo focuses on the snow, it should go in Winter. If most of the photo is taken up by the sky, it should be put in Sunrises and Sunsets.
Please also remember that your photo will be declined if it includes too many man-made objects or focuses too much on an urban environment.

Given the fact it's taken this long for one of us to notice the message (I don't even particularly remember becoming one of the group admins!!) I think it's fair to say that it's not really properly active any more - one or two of us occasionally check submissions I think, but it is definitely an occasional thing!
