deviantART Version 6
After much effort, arguing, designing, and programming, our front page is now better than ever! We've taken a close look at how our community interacts and made improvements to make new art even easier to discover. Quick-loading thumbnails and a faster, more reliable search are just a couple of ways we've made browsing an even more enjoyable experience.

Our Footer is now a destination in itself! Offering direct access to News, Polls, and other community-specific features, this robust feature is extremely functional and also fun to use. You can also flip through your Channels, giving you a great at-a-glance view of your favorite types of art.

Classic and HDR Nature Photography Tutorial+
Hi, everyone! Many people aked me to write a hdr nature photography tutorial, so here it is.
First of all I would like to remind (if someone already knows) some classic skills you have to know to get a good result in future hdr photography. For this you’ll need a dslr-camera, wide (exxtra-wide are even better, but not a necessity) lens and a lot of patience! So here we go - tips, that everybody should know:
:bulletgreen: First, always shoot in RAW-format, сuz it contains minimally processed data from the image sensor of a digital camera and this digital negative has a wider dynamic range or color gamut than the eventual final image format.
:bulletgreen: To get enough detail in nature/landscape photography you should work with big DOF (depth-of-field), the more DOF is - the more distance will be in focus. So increasing the f-number (reducing the aperture diameter) i

Scott S.
United States
I'm Scott. I've been skiing since I was two, and racing since 7th grade. I love it. I also play the bari sax in jazz and concert band (jazz is more fun). In the summer, I sail and play soccer (which I really only play to get into shape for skiing). Oh, and of course, I'm a photographer.

Favourite genre of music: classic rock
Favourite style of art: emotional photos
Shell of choice: conch.
Personal Quote: we strip before we go down (ski team)

I'm loving summer. I'm going to start taking more photos. Here are some ideas:

- Long exposure of a side/rearview mirror on my car.
- Various model shoots.
- Long exposure of someone standing in a river.
- Panning with various (sexy) cars.
- A bike photo. Preferably on 50th, at sunset. I've got the idea in my head. Riding and standing.
- Various photos in Colorado - we're leaving on the 8th!
- A re-shoot of "Lines." I lost the original to that.

I love summer. I getting more in shape by bike riding (yesterday I went on a 2 hour 30 mile ride with lots of hills) and also by lifting some weights and such. I love summer!
