  • Listening to: Uncanny Creativity

In the latest episode of the Uncanny Creativity podcast, discussing some of my favorite Tina Fey quotes. I just watched the movie Whiskey Tango Foxtrot the other day. It was pretty okay.

(Audio quality fixed compared to the last few episodes finally!)

“Whatever the problem, be part of the solution. Don’t just sit around raising questions and pointing out obstacles.” Tina Fey

I previously read the book Steal like an Artist by Austin Kleon. I’m working on reviewing the followup book “Show Your Work. Inspired by Kleon’s discussion of his inspirations, I think the creative ethic of Tina Fey is pretty great. So I’m going to discuss some of her ideas and how to apply them to being creative.

I meant to write a blog post on procrastination. I'm not sure if I did or if I just ranted about how lazy my roommate is. Either way, I'm successful at something?

Scans from the Sketcheebook

Can't put it down.  My scanner made some wierd noises today when doing this though.  Just stuck these in the scraps.   These are just a few things I thought were presentable. There's plenty of wasted pages already! =)

Call for Art! The Style Game

Fri Jul 29, 2005, 11:57 AM
Call for Art

Six Views by Sketchee

I just uploaded this old art project and it inspired me to put up the challenge to everyone else:

In the medium of your choice choose a subject and render it in two or more styles.  Digital manipulation, photography, anime and all artforms are welcome

The styles could be art movements such as impressionism, pointillism, cubism, abstract, etc, or you could do them in the style of your favorite artists, or you can choose an anime/manga style versus American style, or something I haven't even thought of.  It's up to you and your medium. You can even choose two different mediums.

If you're working in color, you might want to intentionally try different color schemes! Primary, complementary, monochromatic, analogous, triadic.

Post your deviations (two or more!) here.  Link to this journal entry from the deviation of you want, optional but appreciated!

There's no time limit on this.  Just post it as you complete it.

You might also want to post your work to the corressponding forum post:…
