So, for the past couple years I have been struggling with some serious depression. It has taken it's toll on absolutely every aspect of my life; friendships, self esteem, and motivation are the biggest victims. I have lost my ability to draw. Every time I put pencil to paper nothing comes out, or if it does, I am completely unsatisfied with it.

I used to love drawing because it gave me an outlet. I could draw whatever I wanted, whomever I wanted, and it was fun! But somewhere along the way my depression started talking and all it told me was "you're no good!" or "give up, everyone else is better!". I lost the ability to have fun with what I was doing and it became a painful thing, a reminder of how inadequate I was at everything else.

Oddly though in the downtime from drawing I was able to channel that energy elsewhere. I fought very hard and became much better at sewing than I ever was before. I am a fucking whiz in the kitchen and can cook anything. I want that kind of passion and fight back in the hobby I've held the closest to my heart.

I've resolved to change all that and go back to the beginning. I'm starting over. From now on it doesn't have to be good, it just has to be fun! So here's to a hopefully new beginning.

Well I made a lot of resolutions last year and hardly kept any of them, save to save money for a trip to Scotland. I ended up going to NYC instead to see Morning Musume, but I wouldn't have traded that trip for anything. It was a dream come true to see Sayu on stage before she graduated. NYC I have been to multiple times before so that wasn't anything spectacular, other than hitting up the Disney store and being disappointed by the change in Book Off - seriously, where the hell did all the Japanese merch go?! It used to be the whole main floor and is now relegated to the basement! Oh and I finished TWO quilts, so I have that going for me too. Check off one more thing.

Granted I was busting my ass on a big project at my new job from March through September, then moving house, then traveling, then getting ready for the holidays... my year was pretty busy. I think I did pretty well for myself, but I still think I could have done more. That might be the Capricorn in me, who knows.

So my resolution this year is simple but to the point: work hard. No matter what you're doing, put your back to it, that way I can't fail.

This fall has been BUSY! September was very busy with a major project at work and then moving house. In October I went to NYC to see Morning Musume live (DREAM COME TRUE!) and then spent a few days at home in Maine. The tail end of October was of course, Halloween! I hope everyone had fun! This month I started busy with Nano, then got sick :/ so that has slowed down, though I am writing again so that is great. Slowly getting ready for Christmas too.

I hope everyone is enjoying the last of 2014. Let's make 2015 a great year too!

Well, I've gotten back into drawing. I realized I needed to stop worrying so much about my progress and just draw for fun again.

I've been doing some sewing again, doll clothes mostly. I have a new tutorial planned and hope to put that up soon. I also got a book of quilt patterns from the 1930s, that I'm really looking forward to getting in to.

I'm looking forward to October! I have tickets to see Momusu in NYC on the 5th, and then hopefully I'll make it home for Halloween, we have plans to go to Salem, Mass. I've been to Salem countless times, but never on Halloween. I hear it's crazy fun. I plan on dressing as a dandy vampire, gotta get to work on my costume!
Well, since the last time I wrote anything was New Year's Day I figured it was high time I updated.

This year has already been busy. In January I helped my sister move across country to live with her boyfriend, then in March I started a full time job that leaves me little time for much of anything. It's killing me that I'm too tired when I get home to do much. I'm just going to have to work on that somehow. I don't want to be that person that just goes to work and that's it. The problem is I get myself all worked up about doing something, don't pick one thing to work on, then the time is gone and I spent it worrying about how I was going to spend it.

I haven't even sat down at my sewing machine since March. It's terrible! I am making time for reading though, which is good. I've been on a Stephen King kick lately and read a bunch of his stuff, as well as Richard Matheson.

Looking forward to this three day weekend. I spent several hours this afternoon playing WoW, which was great because I haven't really played since March and it was fun and relaxing.
2014 is the year of the Horse!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and I hope your new year is the best. I am hoping to get my act together this year, I'm hoping to finish a few stories and send them out for publication, and to really buckle down and work on things. I want this year to be an epic year.

Thank you so much Katelyn! I love you and I love it!   Best present ever! (PS - I put the Ghostbusters pin on my purse :D )
Well, my November was crazy! I took part in NaNoWriMo, which ate all my time for the month. Even when I wasn't physically writing I was thinking about it. By the time I finished I felt like a zombie!

Thanksgiving was kind of a bummer. Missed family who are away and the turkey was not good. All the other food was good, but something was off with the turkey. I don't know, but we ended up throwing it out, which we have NEVER done. That sucked because there were no leftovers for sandwiches! Today I hit the grocery store and I grilled up some awesome steaks. Next year, we just might switch over to steak instead of turkey!

Looking forward to December. I have most of my Christmas shopping done, trying to get to work on my holiday card for this year. I drew one, I'm just seriously not happy with it. I might scrap it and start over. I just don't think I do cute very well and I wish I could. I'll fiddle some more with it tomorrow and listen to some Jpop Christmas albums. That sounds like a plan.

Hope everyone is enjoying the start of the holiday season!
I opened a tumblr for sewing and art projects, it's here: I'll be posting a lot more works in progress and various stuff there, photo sets, sketches and the like. I'll be posting the same stuff here, maybe just not as much volume.

I've been bust the past month or so with a Halloween swap I was running on Den of Angels. Hopefully everything continues to go as smoothly as it has!

Tonight I am listening to Sailor Moon soundtracks and feeling nostalgic. I just realized, after looking at my gallery, that I hadn't drawn any Sailor Moon fanart in over a year! That is criminal! I realize lately that I do not manage my time well at all. That is something I really need to work on, even if I have to set a schedule for myself and make myself stick to it! I should aim to get a little drawing and a little writing done every day, to say nothing of sewing. Or alternate days, something. Maybe I have too many hobbies? I do tend to spread myself too thin. Plus, I like to cook. There aren't enough hours in the day! Does anyone have any tips on time management they found useful?

Well, it being October, I hope you are all in a spooky mood! I love this time of year!

Happy Halloween!

Ninth month of the year and I don't have much to show for progress do I? I need to get my butt in gear! In good news I'm starting a new BETTER job on Tuesday, with better pay and better hours. I am riding in with my Dad so I will save money on gas, unfortunately, that also means I get to work 40 minutes before I have to. (He starts work at 6:30, and usually gets there around 6:10. I start work at 7) D: Also, it means getting up at 5am. I dread this. Do you think if I set my clock back to east coast time I will fool myself into thinking it's actually 7am? Wishful thinking perhaps? But this also means my Dad has to hang around for half an hour after his work is done to wait for me. That also sucks.

But I am planning on using that 40 minutes before work to get some personal stuff done, maybe work on writing, doodling, whatever. We'll  see how it goes.

Oh My God, I've been busy.... and in pain. Neither are a good combination.

I had an impacted wisom tooth taken out last Friday, but I've been in a world of pain since then. The dentist assured me it's not dry socket, but my jawbone feels like it's trying to implode. Oh my God, it hurts SO BAD! I can't believe it.

Other than that I had gotten a part time job at Tractor Supply, but it sucked so bad that I pretty much immediately started looking for a new job. I got a full time job for a lawn care company which I started this week. It's going pretty good! The pay is much better and it's pretty laid back.

Now if I could only get this tooth taken care of. T_T

Since I have no idea how to code CSS I went looking for a customizable journal skin and found this fantastic one by :iconpsychol-bob: The image header will be changing sometime tonight to my own art.

I'm trying to consolidate my websites and things. I feel really spread out and since I own my own domain (and have since 1999) I will be pulling everything back together and putting it there. I already deleted my crafting blog, am going to put most of my old anime sites on static notice, and concentrate on my art and writing. It will be a cleansing for sure.

I've got a lot of irons in the fire, I hope to get some ready to show you soon!

I'm going to start uploading sketches and stuff that I'm working on. Other than that, not much has been happening. I've been working on writing more than anything lately. I've got a lot of ideas in my head to draw, but I've psyched myself out about drawing the past couple years and forgotten how to enjoy it. I'm trying to get over that.

I hope everyone else is enjoying the return of spring!

I swear to God I will upload some drawings soon. I have been drawing, just not finishing anything. I've got at least 10 uncompleted sketches in my sketchbook. One of my goals for this new year is to get my new webcomic up and running and to have at least a full chapter drawn and completed before I post anything online, so look for character studies and such in the future.

Sewing was my big thing this year and I'm glad to say I got much better at it as time went on.

Anyway I hope everyone had a lovely holiday! I turned 33 on Christmas Day! I don't feel any different than I did when I turned 16, honestly. You're always going to be YOU, age makes no difference unless you force it. But as for Christmas, I didn't get a Christmas illustration done this year so I am planning on a New Year's illustration instead. I'd like to do a pic of Emily, Peter, Muriel and Dickie set a couple years after the story takes place. I should probably get to work on that!

In exciting family news my niece just became engaged over Christmas to her long time boyfriend and I am so very excited and happy for her!

See you all in the new year!

Wow! I haven't updated my journal in a while. Not much going on and at the same time busy, busy, busy! I sent one of my BJDs out for a new face up, and have ordered new wigs for almost all of them. For Halloween I want to make them all new gothic outfits and take some pictures in cemetery.

Hope to get some stuff done on the drawing front soon. In the meantime, you can check out my new website here.

About 3 weeks ago I started a new full time job, I work 9 hours a day and my commute is a little over an hour, so to say I have little time for anything lately is an understatement. Once I get accustomed to the schedule I'm sure I'll start producing stuff again, but for the time being it's going to be SLOOOOW going. I haven't worked in over a year so it was quite a jolt to my system. I've let too many comments and pieces pile up in my inbox over the past several months, so I am going to slowly attempt to whittle them back down to a manageable level!

Hope you all are enjoying the spring weather!

OK guys, sorry about not finishing the Valentine's pictures before Valentine's. What I thought was a simple head cold turned into a serious case of influenza. I had a fever over 101°, chills, aches, a terrible head ache and a horrible, racking, cough. Then I got dehydrated. I spent over a week in bed and still don't feel 100%. I don't think I've ever slept so much in my life. Everyone in my family had to take medication too so they didn't catch it as well.

It is definitely going around though as last week I was in the doctor's office getting tested and she told me it was odd for someone to get the flu this late in the season. Exactly one week later my Mom went back in and there was a sign on the front door stating if you had a fever and a cough to tell the front desk nurse RIGHT AWAY as they didn't want you in the general waiting area.

I feel better than I did last week, but still tired as all get out.

Because :iconfun-it:'s image of Chibi-Usa and Helios is late, I will do a special image to be posted for White Day.

Take care of yourselves guys!
