I'm a painter, illustrator, cartoonist, filmmaker, puppeteer, poet, writer, and many other things.
I was educated as a visual artist at the Perpich Center for Art Education in Minnesota, and as a filmmaker and animator at the Tisch School of Arts at New York University. I work out of Minneapolis-Saint Paul.
I'm fueled by a love of laughter, learning, and outright weirdness. I enjoy colliding intellectualism and "cheap" entertainment, where things like mythology, philosophy, science and history meet robots, puppets, superheroes and cartoons. I value causing epiphanies and blurring the line between "ha-ha" and "a-ha."
I consider each art form a special language, and my goal is to be as eloquent as possible in all things from ink wash to tea drinking. I am interested in the creative process as a way of life, and bringing elements of improvisation and collaboration into all things. As self-expression becomes more automatic, life becomes more authentic.
