The familiar knock came to the door. It was one that Rosa knew well and had hoped wouldn’t return. Moving swiftly she entered the dark foyer, turned on the light and opened the door. Standing at the door was a woman, tall and elegantly dressed. By the light now pouring into the doorway Rosa could make out her white painted face as clear as day, despite the large shadow cast by her rather large hat. The woman looked at her and gave her a warm, knowing smile; Rosa returned it.
“La Calavera,” Rosa stepped aside and without a word, the lady entered the house, Rosa shut the door.
“It is good to see you again,” the woman said as she moved into the home proper. Not much had changed since her last visit Rosa thought. In reality, much had changed, it was hard to know how much, but that was indeed part of the issue. Rosa moved next to La Calavera,
