A raging mad Illustrator seems to observe an invisible menace in defiance and fury, as she rises a bloodied talon towards her face.
The explanation to what had made her THIS angry when she usually is one of the milder skeksis is over there at the "only inks" version of this drawing: however, seeing as many of you may have never read it and miht be interessed in it, I'l transcribe a description I made of the moment this is take from, under the last part of this description! ^^
The drawing itself was painted with acrylics and shaded and detailed with common color pencils.
I hope you'll enjoy this one, despite the gore *rather unusual in my pieces* OR maybe you would enjoy it BECAUSE of the gore1
One never knows XD
*BY THE WAY: I COULDN'T DECIDE IF THIS SHOULD BE TAGGED AS "MATURE" DUE TO THE BLOOD PRESENT HERE...ADVISES?
I'll leave it free for now and if it would be necessary, please tell me and I'll put it under a filter!
----THE AFOREPROMISED CONTEXT FOR THIS ODD PICTURE:
SkekLa- as the roleplay we're holding with my fellow SkekKel and others goes- had spent months in a mission along with the Counselor and both their gelfling servants, sent by the Emperor to learn more about the possibility of an imminent gelfling revolt.
She is not fitting for the quest but SkekSo refuses to send any more "useful" courtisan, and deciding she is a minor loss, if she happens to be caught or killed, sends her.
The Counselor stubborny volunteers to go with her as escort, because they had been already bound by fellowship for long, and he thought she would be slain if she went alone.
To make it short, they were injured on the road, after a carnivorous animal's attack during the night. They were found by gelflings who said to remain loyal to the skeksis' cause,at the brink of exhaustion and possible death, and brought with great effort into a small secluded village amidst the forest.
The loyal villagers tended for the injured skeksis and they managed to survive even though the meas were meager for them and the lack of Sun Ceremonies was deeply weakening them.
knowing they could never return to the castle with empty hands and neither hold much more without replenishing sun ceremonies, the skeksis sent a spy from the loyal village to infiltrate in the said rebellious settling (which they have learned did exist, and was in fact at deep conflict with them,as the chieftain of the vilage they were at confirmed)
The said spy was the very son of the chieftain, who had sworn an oath to be the "rebellious gelfling's doom" after loosing his mother during the first uprising (when the rebels had found out about the gelfling drainings at the castle, a thing in which the loyal gelflings did not believe)
The son of the chief, named Meric, goes and stays within the rebel settling for some time. Meanwhile, the skeksis remain in the loyal settling, living best as they can and trying to even aid the villagers for common good: they truly need each other's cooperation.
One day, the soaring watch maids cry warning someone approaches, and this one is the spy, the chief's son who returns!
The lad gives the skeksis the prized news on the plans the rebel gelflings have, and is arrowed on his spine by surprise from beneath some bushes.
The neighboring gelflings, the "rebels", had discovered his plan and followed him. They had reached him by the village's entrance and dared shooting once they had all gathered and were ready for an attemt of assault. They could not see ruined all their plans for trying to enter the castle and freeing the prisoner gelflings!
The chief's son laid dead, and the Counselor, even weakened, readied for the attack, sword in hand.
The loyal settling prepared to try and repell the intruders with heir harvesting tools, and rocks.
The Illustrator tried to flee at first, while she shrieks at everyone around to stand and defend themselves...remembering the Counselor and their servants, who she doesn't want to lose, she turns back to try and somehow aid them flee from the fighting, and is suddenly arrowed on her left shoulder.
Unused to that ammount of pain, she falls and curls up "like a wounded snake"
Moments later, three rebel gelflings run to her armed with spears, to finish her off.
Feeling the first jabbing in her flank, the skeksis, crazed by pain and terror, fumblingly stands with her few remaining energies and starts roaring and hitting with her claws aimlessly, blindly, with as much force as she can muster.
She can't focus into any other thing but the terrible pain, and is determined to make it stop at any price.
After some seconds the three gelflings lay around her motionless and torn by her talons.
Inwardly shocked at herself but also ferociously determined to save her skin and that of her fellow Counselor and their two servants, the Illustrator stares at the carage she caused with a mix of dettachment and fury, and inner self-disgust.
Back in the castle she had always been the odd one who usually tried to stick up in favor of the sservants and tried to stop them from being unnecessarily mistreated or harmed...Now she has destroyed three gelflings with her bare hands, and she feels nothing but pain, fury, and the urge to keep herself and her fellow safe.
Then, fulfilling an ancient hunting rite of the skeksis' golden era, she dabs two fingers in the spilled blood, traces lines of deep red across her face and beak, and limps towards her fellows, who still fend against the assailants.
THERE IT IS!
A mumbled, rambly explanation as context for this image!
I hope you'll enjoy it, and give me some comments!
I'll be back soon with more, new comics and drawings!

I'm way much more satisfied with the intensity the colors gave this one!
Her fury shows truly much better at this version!
I try to improve all the time, it's great to knpw you think this is a good one! ^^
Está TAN enojada ahí...WAAAHHH!
I adore your colouring skills..it looks magnificent!
And again I really like the story behind it..and her expression comes out even better in colour.
Awesome work, as always!
You think she came out even better in color?
And I wasso afraid of ruining her!!!
I'm happy you like both the story behind this, and the mood the colors set in it...THANK YOUUU
I really think so! The colour really adds to the atmosphere and general mood..especially the blood comes out much better :3
I really do!
Thaks for liking the general atmosphere and tone of it all!
Very dark and scary, but I love the touch.
And you did the blood really well.
Lady Desair: in time, my child. You'll realize, that what we do is a necassary evil, for how can one be happy, if they don't suffer, or witness carnage?
But considering what had just happened to her it ws inevitable... XD
THANKS! I wanted to truly draw some splatter since I rarely do it..it HAD to look like blood!...and not smattered raspberry cream or tomato sauce! XD
I doubt gelflings are filled with any of those...Xd
SkekLa: Mother?...*a growl slowly fades within her throat, breaking into a small, confused and hurt whine* I---I know but...but I did not want to...Why...why I had to do it?--- *lowers her head and hates herself for not being able to enjoy the darkness as much as most her fellows do it*
Imagine if Lady Despair went to far, so Skek-La kills her by stabbing her silver talon into her mothers ONE weakspot. Her neck.
Oh my, SkekLa rebels from her own nature? What's with her???
Hmmm...Poor Lady Despair!...It would be the end of it all...hopefully SkekLa won't do it!...let us hope she doesn't!
Great little post, and scene. Love it
She usually berserks copletely only to the "foes"...she never has acted directly in deadly offense against anothr skeksis for example, even though she has seen herself cornered a respectable number of times!
I bet she'll make a small scandal but won't TRULY HURT Lady Despair!
It was a so fine rp!!!
AGH My internet is CRAZY these days! It goes constatly on and off signal and makes me so SLOW for repliesthat it's torturing!!!
"You don't understand, Mother. He's my other half, and he means EVERYTHING to me!!" Rips her talon out of lady despairs neck, black blood coating it. And Lady Despair then explodes into black smoke.
When she's angry, her eyes are possibly worse than her talons!
I used her pallor to punctuate the reds of the blood and her robes, and her faintly greyed brown mane works as frame for that furious face...her eyes truly pop out here!...
I wanted to give lots of unusual intensity to her here...
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR LIKING IT!!!
That is encouraging (Encouragement sharky hour!!! <3) I'll make sure to live up to these last ones! To colour and shade intensely I said! *flies away to draw more*
HOW COULD I EVER FORGET THE ENCOURAGEMENT SHARK??? HE IS ABSOLUTELY PRECIOUS!!!!
You know what, you're right! ^^
Thanks for refreshing my head up with that wise advise"!!!! ^^
It's amazing to see you like her here, even when she is so out of herself and seems to pierce one's soul with those eyes...
Fury suits her strangely well, even if rarely seen in her1 xd
Thanks so much for appreciating this one! <3
I wanted her to look as furious as she rarely shows up!
To convey the ammount of blind rage she might get when striken or truly cornered, even being not a usual trait of hers!
SkekLa looks furious as NEVER... and probably it's one of the very rare occasions when she met herself with such fury...
You painted her bloodied hand perfectly, it feels like REAL blood, it's really cool to look at!
And her face in color gain even more depth than in inked drawing
I love how her pale features correspond with the darkness around her...
Yes...SkekLa possibly can't even recognize herself there!
Such ammount of blind fury is very unusual in her!
THAT BLOOD...Took me half an hour to get it across as I wanted!...
It was gard to get it looking splattered and dense as I wanted...but it looks fine enough! ^^
THANK YOU AGAIN!!!
Indeed her pallor helps contrasting her face from the surroundings very sharply...so sharply that she results even scarier!
The shy, meek Illustrator...who would tell?...
